If Ukraine was even near holding its own in a defensive situation , then there would be no need of NATO troops.

Bring it on.
Declan, Ukraine should have been overrun two years ago. Russia was No. 2 in military rankings and Ukraine No.22.

Ukraine has been able to do, with its own troops, what the whole of NATO was set up to do.

I think it's fair for NATO is do a little more than they have to date.

"While leading the Movement Against Violence, Cintula maintained ties with Slovenskí Branci, an ultranationalist and pro-Russian paramilitary group that dissolved in 2020. In a video published in 2016 on Facebook, Cintula is seen at an event organized by the extremist group that advocated for the creation of armed militias to protect Europeans from the arrival of “hundreds of thousands of migrants.”

The lad would fit in well on this forum.

Which once again reinforces the idea that Russia does not want to invade the whole of Ukraine, because it would have done so by now if it wished.

The greater part of the Russian army has been held back from the conflict, NATO knows this, which is why it's getting cold feet over further involvement.

Let us face a simple fact. Putin is a skilled leader. The west is led by a dementia patient, a shower of gays and women, an Indian midget and a smaller gidget in Ireland.
Indeed, you look at the Russian leadership and the those surrounding it and compare and contrast with the bunch of idiotic egotistical no hopers that are extant in the Whitehouse.

She Russa is no danger at all then.
Well it's still attacking, isn't it?

But a larger sense Russia poses no longer term existental danger to Europe..I've said this before but a lot of people got Russia badly wrong in terms of military power. There's now efforts to revisit just how powerful the USSR was really. The West (and the US) probably have spent far more on defence than they ever needed to.

If the West properly set up Ukraine to defend itself, then Russia could just grind itself to dust. There are 250 patriot systems in the world, and Ukraine just needs a few more to be totally airtight against Russian missiles. Zelensky says he needs 25 to be secure and that's going to be high.

But 10% of Patriot systems to contain Russia at war?

So the 250 number of Patriot systems then is massive overkill because the only other adversary with that kind of offensive air attack capability is China.

That's not even talking about all the other SAM systems that could be used, like Aegis, or other Western systems.

So yes, the Western military industrial complex has vastly profited over the years but to be fair, the Wests best analysts themselves got Russia vastly wrong. (And they are now going to be asking how much they have also over rated China.)

And Russias defensive capability is near gone. Russia had one of the most formidable SAM networks in the world. Now its wide open to attack. I don't see Russia launching much if any SAMs these days to defend their airbases, naval ports, and energy infrastructure.

And all this accomplished by a Ukrainian army of old men with (still) mostly old USSR based equipment, against the entire Russian army engaged since day 1.

While Russia poses no longer term danger to Europe..it can still cause damage, so its best the AFU just continues to waste away Russian conventional power.

If Russia wants to preserve what's left, they can always withdraw.

China is probably shitting themselves. They can never go to war with the US.

So your script writers are going for the 'Russia is beat so we needn't get involved' exit ramp eh?

Russia has around 3.5 million military personnel altogether, counting all three services and reservists.

NATO is shitting itself.

Well this aged well -

A Russian reserve army of 15,000 soldiers is pinned down near Bakhmut and will be destroyed, says Ukraine's spy chief

Meanwhile, just two days ago -

Shoigu expressed confidence that the further advance of the Russian army in the area of the special military operation will continue at the same pace.

"Certain reserves have been created for this purpose, both in terms of people, equipment, and ammunition," he added.

Russia really should just pull all their athletes from the sham games, ask the other world leaders like India, China etc etc to do the same and let the tranny west think they're the best in the world at everything..... :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
