She Russa is no danger at all then.
Well it's still attacking, isn't it?
But a larger sense Russia poses no longer term existental danger to Europe..I've said this before but a lot of people got Russia badly wrong in terms of military power. There's now efforts to revisit just how powerful the USSR was really. The West (and the US) probably have spent far more on defence than they ever needed to.
If the West properly set up Ukraine to defend itself, then Russia could just grind itself to dust. There are 250 patriot systems in the world, and Ukraine just needs a few more to be totally airtight against Russian missiles. Zelensky says he needs 25 to be secure and that's going to be high.
But 10% of Patriot systems to contain Russia at war?
So the 250 number of Patriot systems then is massive overkill because the only other adversary with that kind of offensive air attack capability is China.
That's not even talking about all the other SAM systems that could be used, like Aegis, or other Western systems.
So yes, the Western military industrial complex has vastly profited over the years but to be fair, the Wests best analysts themselves got Russia vastly wrong. (And they are now going to be asking how much they have also over rated China.)
And Russias defensive capability is near gone. Russia had one of the most formidable SAM networks in the world. Now its wide open to attack. I don't see Russia launching much if any SAMs these days to defend their airbases, naval ports, and energy infrastructure.
And all this accomplished by a Ukrainian army of old men with (still) mostly old USSR based equipment, against the entire Russian army engaged since day 1.
While Russia poses no longer term danger to Europe..it can still cause damage, so its best the AFU just continues to waste away Russian conventional power.
If Russia wants to preserve what's left, they can always withdraw.
China is probably shitting themselves. They can never go to war with the US.
