I think the current situation needs to be addressed. Legal migrants need to stop being conflated with asylum seekers/protection seekers. The latter should be assessed humanely, effectively and efficiently. Those who are not entitled to protection/asylum should be told sorry and goodbye...

Then the solution is simple. A "failed state", by definition, will not be supported by the majority of the people. All you need to do is come up with an unified alternative, properly articulated by either one or a group of parties and put it before the electorate. It's called democracy.
