For 450 days now, many residents of Rosslare Harbour have been protesting the taking over of their nursing home, formerly the Great Southern Hotel and then St Helen's Hotel, to make an IPAS, migrant, centre.
Instead of the powers that be responding to this criticism, the opposite has happened. The government is now set to create three more IPAS centres in this small town/village, including the two buildings either side of the modern long windows of the former hotel in this picture, and a further B and B up the street. In otherwords the government is creating a whole new international town out of their town, entirely without planning permission and in the teeth of fierce local opposition.
