Justin and his National Party also scored a massive own goal by having a policy of bringing back the death penalty, if instead of death they had a policy of a minimum sentence of 50 yrs without parole for murder, it would actually be popular with the general public

Being pro-life isn't very popular either. It is more important to stick to principles then diluting them to appeal to the public. The death penalty is not mentioned that much by the NP, and their policy is to be only for extreme cases, so I don't think it would lose them too many supporters. The death penalty policy might scare away some people but it does attract others - it's definitely one reason why I support them.

I spent the last 15 mins trying to find out the 1st preference vote for each candidate inn the EU Midlands North West Constituency. The only one I could find was from the Irish Times behind a pay wall.

Has anyone a link to the 1st count result?

Claiming the name "National party" is an absurd nonsense from a variety of perspectives as I'm sure that those who generally disagree with me, will agree?

One if those perspectives is simply that "The Party" does not and does not seek to represent the Nation of Ireland.

At best, to be honest and respectful it's probably better to rename the Group as "The Regional Party"??

That'd be a Super Party,
Padraig Pearse, Michael Collins, De Valera, and all the Patriots who fought and carried the weight as of equal inspirational significance - You'd have a sensational dynamic in local politics, gaining huge momentum in no time🔥🌪️ 💥

There are a lot of things I like about Justin but the reality is, it looks like the entire NP rank and file members built up since 2016 aren't on his side. I wonder why🤔
He's a sound man alright and I've great respect for him but he should forget about parties especially one called the national Party. The Irish nation is toast, deal with it. He comes across brilliantly in interviews, the few he did with o Doherty before she turned into a cow were excellent, he affable charming funny smart and above all else, sound. I think the way to go is local independent and ur website a big part of ur day to day contact with locals. Reynolds and Co are going nowhere, as is other micro parties, hope he dusnt throw the towel in but the abuse he gets would crush a lesser man.

They may not like his dictatorial style. But their efforts now for 8 years have been destroyed by Barrett first and many times worse by Reynolds. Has he been seen at all since the election.

They have one elected member, Mr Quinlan. He needs to take the bull by the horns and form a new party called The Gaelic National Party. The young man, Yan being the Táiniste.

They should speak Irish, then each sentence in English.
