From Twitter.
But the speculation is pretty hard to dismiss as nonsense.
Russia has obviously inflicted some pain and damage, but I'd be surprised if the whole Saab management team was wiped out as I am sure there would be company protocols prohibiting such a gathering in a war zone.

However, if 600 NATO personnel were killed then we might hope that some sense starts to prevail at the European end of the organisation, but it's only a hope for the US will twist the arms harder still.

The Neocons are cracking down very hard on freedom of speech.

The actions by the Department of the Treasury in levying new sanctions against RT, Sputnik, and other Russian media organizations has made it impossible for me to continue my work as an outside contributor for RT and Sputnik, as well as participating in interviews and other collaborations with other Russian media.
The language in question is quite clear about the scope and scale of its restrictions:

“In addition, financial institutions and other persons that engage in certain transactions or activities with the sanctioned persons may expose themselves to sanctions or be subject to an enforcement action. The prohibitions include the making of any contribution or provision of funds, goods, or services by, to, or for the benefit of any designated person, or the receipt of any contribution or provision of funds, goods, or services from any such person.”

I reject the notion that the work I have done over the past years with the newly sanctioned Russian media organizations has been anything other than legitimate journalism, the content of which has been factually correct and analytically sound, and always of my own creation.

Nonetheless, I am fully committed to obeying US law, and as such will be terminating all contractual relationships with both RT and Sputnik effective immediately, as well as suspending my participation in any and all media interaction with sanctioned individuals and organizations until which time it is deemed lawful to do so by US authorities.

I will continue to exercise my free speech rights, to include my ability to function as a journalist free from government influence or control.

I am deeply grateful for the professionalism of all of my Russian colleagues over the past several years, and am proud to have made their acquaintance. I regret the actions of my government in silencing legitimate journalistic outlets, and look forward to the day when freedom of speech and a free press is not constrained by a dubious “Russian exception” that is violative of Constitutional norms and values.

I think it's 50 killed and the rest of the 600 or so injured.

Still a brutal result! Not sure how many were Swedes but no wonder the Swedish foreign minister resigned!

Well we've no doubts about who the real totalitarians are anymore.

Ukrainian Army facing collapse – Putin

Kiev’s incursion in Kursk Region has failed to achieve its goal and may lead to a complete defeat, the Russian president has said

High casualties incurred by the Ukrainian military since Kiev launched its incursion in Russia’s Kursk Region could render its armed forces useless, Russian President Vladimir Putin has said.
The Russian leader shared his assessment of the frontline situation on Thursday during a panel discussion at the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok. He said the Ukrainian attempt to disrupt the Russian military with the massive attack across the border last month had backfired.
”Our military has stabilized the situation and is now gradually pushing the opponent from the border territories. More importantly, there is no resistance to our advancement [in Donbass],” he explained. “The opponent has weakened itself on the key axis by moving those relatively strong and well-trained units to the border areas.”
Ukrainian officials expected Moscow to redeploy some of its forces from the east to repel the incursion in the north. However, the gamble has not paid off, Aleksandr Syrsky, Kiev’s top general, acknowledged last week.

Kremlin comments on Ukraine’s threat to ‘hold’ Russian territory

Putin said Russian troops had been securing more land in Donbass, which is a priority for Moscow, at a pace unseen in a long time. Meanwhile, Ukrainian troops are “suffering very high losses in manpower and hardware.”
“Because of that, [Kiev] risks a collapse of the front line on the most important axis. The casualties may result in a loss of fighting capability of the entire armed forces, which is what we are looking to achieve,”
the president added.
On Wednesday, the Russian Defense Ministry estimated that Ukrainian casualties in the Kursk operation had surpassed 9,700 troops. Kiev also lost 81 tanks, dozens of other armored vehicles, hundreds of cars, and multiple heavy weapons, the military said.

Putin confirmed the statistics, telling the audience that the intelligence had been confirmed by multiple sources.

Putin backs Kamala Harris (VIDEO)

The Russian president told a conference in Vladivostok that he respected Joe Biden’s choice of successor

Moscow will support US Vice President Kamala Harris in the upcoming presidential election in November, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday while speaking at the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok.
Putin told the audience that he admired the Democratic Party candidate’s “infectious laugh” and that he respected current President Joe Biden’s choice to endorse her as his successor.
During a plenary session of the forum, Putin was asked whether he had a favorite candidate in the election now that Joe Biden, who he previously supported, has dropped out. He was also asked whether or not he would call to congratulate the eventual winner in November.
Putin replied by saying it had been a long time since he had any direct contact with European or US leaders, and noted that it was not up to Russia to choose a “favorite” in the US presidential election, which is a task for American voters.
Nevertheless, he recalled that he had previously expressed support for US President Joe Biden, who had since been “removed” from the race. However, the Russian president noted that Biden had told his supporters to support Kamala Harris in the race, and so Moscow would do the same and root for the vice president in November, Putin said.

Putin added that Harris “laughs so infectiously” that it suggests “everything is going well for her.”
He also suggested that Harris’ positive disposition could mean that she would refrain from imposing as many sanctions on Russia as former US President Donald Trump, who Putin said had introduced more restrictions on Moscow than any other president in American history.
“In the end, the choice is up to the American people and we will treat their eventual decision with respect,” he said.

I suspect the reason for his sudden resignation is that more Swedish “instructors” were killed in the recent double-Iskander missile strike in Poltava than have been reported. The number of KIA is officially 41, but Ukrainian locals are reporting up to 760 bodies in the morgue. To go from 200 years of safe neutrality to losing dozens of military officers in a single Russian strike is a catastrophe that the leading advocate of abandoning neutrality would have to be held responsible.

Bad enough that we're housing and feeding over 100,000 of them here at taxpayers expense but now we're throwing hundreds of millions more straight into the black hole of corruption....

That €168million would go a long way towards funding the re-opening of the Collooney-Claremorris rail-line, provide a spur to the international airport of Knock thus making it accessible to the university cities of Sligo & Galway. Open up the West of Ireland for fcuks sake. But no! Dail traitors see fit to spend €350,000 on a bicycle shed. Rant over.

Once the Russians take or destroy this hub, then no supplies can get East and the Ukes have to try to retreat, which likely is impossible. It took a long time, but it is basically over in the next matter of days unless something big hits.
