I guess thats a part of it Zip, but for me its definitely about the destruction of the Irish identity - the sense in which we feel Irish, and a sense of mutual solidarity, the roots of any opposition to a takeover of the country - and the destruction of Irish communities. When all the waffle and...

Aaron Brady only pleaded guilty to recording some of the evidence against him while in court, thats it, thats what the big song and dance is today in his case. He is definitely innocent, and still awaits, over about 6 months now I think, the court verdict on his Appeal.

To clarify, because there seems some confusion. This is a Civil case indeed, taken in the High Court before a High Court judge, but when Gemma failed to appear the judge issued an order compelling her to appear, and called on the Garda Commissioner to enforce that. The hearing last Friday was...

Madam?lol I am a 'he'! Well Ireland has reverted to type years ago in being very prejudiced against Catholics, nothing new there!

Anyway she is not appearing now in the case taken by the Cavan lady against her. (She has offered to appear virtually but this was refused.) The gardai say, in court 3 in the High Court, they tried 20 times to locate her and have failed. The case is due to proceed when it seems the plaintiff...

I grew up in Ireland, as such I learnt virtually nothing about serious Christian Doctrine, while going to 'Catholic' schools, and lived in a culture where all organs of the state and media sneered, laughed, and abused the Catholic Church ritualistically, and in consequence, predictably almost...

I am just trying to explain the Christian religion, because its surprising how little Irish people know about it. The opening to heaven came about through Jesus, but I believe hell has always been there, since the fall of Adam and Eve.

The whole idea of a funeral is to attract prayers, and a mass, the highest of prayers, to help the soul hopefully go to heaven. The prayers are all important.

Yes but you can never presume that anybody got to heaven, except actual saints. We are told that prayers can make a difference though, for how long you spend in Purgatory anyway, in contrast a person going to hell is unfortunately beyond help then.

No, I think you could be mixing it up with Purgatory. Purgatory is very much a penance, actually you suffer a lot there but become purged of the stain of sin eventually, and then you can get to heaven.

Oh right fair enough, I guess you have read lots of theological works for example. But its true sometimes it can be confusing and requires a lot of study to figure out. But anyway if you did study it in depth you might find some of your questions answered. For example if you studied the Book of...

I don't wish to be disrespectful Myles, but are you really well acquainted with Christian Doctrine? Many intellectual disciplines can seem daunting, or self contradictory even, until one has studied them properly.

Well Fishalt what they usually say, or sometimes say anyway, in those situations is that the soul, if they live a good life, will live out their existence in Limbo. That is technically part of hell, but its not so bad, not continual torments or anything like that. For example those good people...

But what you are now trying to do is second guess God, you know how He thinks and how He should react to situations? Logically wouldn't you need super human intelligence to knowledgeably work that one out? He doesn't show himself because thats one of the tests, if He did it wouldn't be much of...

You know Professor in the Catholic faith life on earth is a trial, a test, which if you pass it means you enter a paradise known as heaven. Catholicism does not preach any kind of paradise on earth, that good people go through difficulties on earth is entirely the way its supposed to be in the...

Yes I saw that! There are a host of problems with the De Vere hypothesis in my opinion anyway, although he is obviously right in saying that the actor never wrote anything. This is the video on it in case anybody is interested: View: https://youtu.be/xifQufECOF0?si=uh1c7YV9IgUjjxBr .

Yes, basically it relys on two people who claimed he told them in the US that he did it. That kind of evidence is often used in crooked trials, because the security forces will always be able to pressurize someone to say that, someone not immediately connected with a given case. Mrs Nevin in her...
