The major flaw with that prognosis is the demands of the MIC to have an ongoing war somewhere in the world. However, it does apply far more closely to the EU than America, it's as if it couldn't be done in America but Europe was far more malleable so it was tried here first.

Looked up Martyanov - seems like a Russian equivalent of a CNN talking head.

The disintegration of America essentially began with the Neocons, while the previous administration had pockmarked it, it was Cheney and his ilk that embedded the routine.

One could argue that it is the circumstances of the end of modernity that is causing the current strife - the leading lights of the civilisation don't have the wherewithal to reboot it and so resort to defensive destruction. There's a strong claim to be made that the Great War was exactly an event of this type - the previous caste system was being displaced and, rather than adapt, the elites of the time opted for a great blood letting in order to reset the regimes.

One hopes that this will all be unwound successfully but that negative selection gig that they've been playing don't give no good vibes.
