The Israelis are supposed to have one of the best intelligence apparatus in the world, yet we're to believe Hamas operatives were able to just saunter past the most advanced prison barrier in the world and spend hours killing at will without the Israeli occupation forces present!

Many believe, rightly in my view that this couldn't happen. Let's assume they're right, then it would appear the Israelis knew what was coming and let it happen so they could try to argue to their allies that the savage retribution by way of ethnic cleansing they're currently carrying out is justified.

Again, assuming this is the case then isn't it likely they'd exaggerate the numbers killed and claim things like babies being beheaded?

Who knows...but there are reasons to dispute the Zionist claims. And there's apparently evidence Israeli occupation forces killed many of their own when attacking Hamas during their attack.

I don't think anyone is saying they arranged it. More likely they knew of it but let it happen in order to gain Western support, which they do want, to then take Gaza.

And that's what we see; all the Western politicians saying Israel has a right, after such a savage attack against them, to respond with far greater force.

Israel wouldn't just launch this murderous campaign in Gaza out of the blue, as then even their Western defenders would struggle to justify it.

You have already said that Hamas did a violent act on the Israeli in the hope that the expected violent response of the Israeli would put thier cause back in the minds of world.

Was there some doubt as to the character of the Israelis?

And this reminder to the world is worth the lives of 8000 [so far] of Hamas' people.

Hamas did what they did knowing what the response would be. Thousands of lives lost in effort that does not materially change the situation of the Palestinian people in anyway.

Did so knowing that their Arab friends and neighbours would not lift a finger to help. Friends and neighbours who cleared their own countries out of Jews and sent them to live in the new Israel state. Those friends and neighbours.

Gaza has been a perpetual suck of western money.. what Hamas have they done to improve the lives of their people in area... except to build tunnels and sell the ideology of totally destroying the only homeland of the Jewish people, a people who are nuclear armed and with a global superpower in their back pockets.

Hamas and Palestinian leadership are lucky to have the Israeli to constantly blame for thier own failings.

In effect, then, the Black and Tans and the Auxiliaries were assigned to Palestine once their presence in Ireland was no longer deemed necessary. The parallel fascinated me.
