Washington is not going to fund Ukraine anymore, US Vice President J.D. Vance told Fox News on Sunday.
Ukraine’s European backers can buy weapons from American producers if they want to continue supporting Kiev, and the US will be “okay with that,” Vance added. “But we're not going to fund it ourselves anymore,” he said.
The interview was published after Vance met with several Western European and Ukrainian officials in London, including UK Foreign Minister David Lammy. According to media reports, Vance’s trip was intended to pave the way for a summit between the Russian and US presidents in Alaska on Friday, where resolving the conflict between Kiev and Moscow is expected to be at the top of the agenda.
Vance suggested that Kiev’s European backers should play a bigger role providing funding if they “care so much about this conflict.”

“Americans, I think, are sick of continuing to send their money, their tax dollars, to this particular conflict. But if the Europeans want to step up and buy the weapons from American producers, we're okay with that. But we're not going to fund it ourselves anymore,” he said.
The US president had said earlier that the ideas under discussion include “some swapping of territories to the betterment of both” sides, adding that Vladimir Zelensky would need to find a way to approve such a deal under Ukrainian law.
Zelensky has rejected any such agreement, claiming that “nobody can or will” make concessions on the issue. “The Ukrainians will not give their land to the occupiers,” he proclaimed.
Moscow’s senior negotiator Kirill Dmitriev has warned that countries trying to prolong the Ukraine conflict will likely go to great lengths to derail the planned meeting between Putin and Trump.

Perhaps the US is wary of exposing to an even greater degree that their beautiful weapons don't work anymore. Will European countries be so stupid as to keep buying them anyway? Probably.

WHY O WHY would you meet trump who lies quicker than he breathes .
everything he does is as crooked as it is possible to be -- the Minsk accords were useful in that everyone who co signed them with Russia lied and openly on tv and newspapers laughed like Angela Merkle and skittered afterwards about how clever they were in singing something which enabled them to arm Ukraine to the teeth and install a NATO management structure in Ukraine .
the mocking of Putin by Angela Merkle was particularly hard for Putin to take as he is so pro western and studied German in Germany and got a masters degree in German studies and spoke privately to Merkle frequently as a friend in her own language .
to sit across a table and in full view of the whole world including the huge Russian population and sign the peace accords and shake hands and then watch all of the people who signed especially zelenksky sneer and titter about how clever they were and how stupid the Russians were .
there will never be another Minsk accords there will be no tittering it will be drowned out by the sound of orishink missiles .

One ray of hope is Spain turning its nose up at the F-35, but that might be as much to do with the changing face of warfare as it is the realisation that they would be buying a pig in a poke.

Meanwhile, the Chinese appear well ahead in electronics which no doubt means all aspects of electronic warfare, while less developed countries can now build large arsenals of drones at relatively low cost.

The balance of power is no longer what it is was, if there is a balance at all.

The Indias saw an F35 parked on an airfield for weeks that couldn't be repaired.
That's a catastrophic demonstration of how shyte they are in real world scenarios.
And a second one is gone the same way I. Japan I think.

That is, for now, one less front to worry about in what has become a low-simmer diplomatic war. The Telegraph has been told that the US State Department is compiling a list of Irish officials to be issued with travel bans over the country’s role in policing speech on US social media platforms headquartered in Dublin.
