Strange days in USA.

"We'll Take Half World Down With Us": India Outraged By Pak Army Chief's Nuke Threats From US Soil | ZeroHedge https://share.google/qKu6HJKlgrJiR1g0m
It seems the latest generation of world leaders is simply unaware of not only the scale of damage caused by nuclear warfare but also the type and the long term repercussions of a nuclear exchange.

Hiroshima was 80 years ago, the lesson is being forgotten.

Just on the Venezuela question again, the US has announced a new deployment of troops to the Southern Caribbean, they say to combat drug gangs, but the US Secretary of State also remarked when announcing this:
"He also targeted Venezuela and President Nicolas Maduro, saying that the Maduro regime is not a government recognised by the US.
“The Maduro regime is not a government. It is not a legitimate government and we have never recognised it as such. They are a criminal enterprise that has taken control of national territory and who, by the way, are threatening US oil companies that are operating lawfully in Guyana.
“The President has been very firm on this. Anything that is a threat to the United States of America, he is going to confront.”"

The Trump administration is not exactly denying that their military buildup in the Southern Caribbean is targeting Venezuela:

View: https://x.com/atrupar/status/1957862001247441078

Meanwhile President Maduro has just called up his military reserves: https://edition.cnn.com/2025/08/19/...uro-militia-us-military-deployment-intl-latam .
This is no small point, there are 4.5 million of them. So Trump is taking time out of his day to ensnare the US military in a war against 4 and a half million people under arms?

President Trump is due to make an announcement from the Oval Office in about 20 minutes from now, some claim he will declare war on Venezuela.

Yes but for example he also needs the Congress to levy tariffs, and that didn't bother him!

I think it was carried live by the big US networks, and at least the feed I watched had a huge delay as well because the President was late, and that's all it was. Weird.

Yesterday Trump was asked to rule out attacking Venezuela but declined to do so:
"President Donald Trump won’t say whether he’s planning military action in Venezuela.

While speaking to reporters Sunday, Trump was asked whether he had plans to strike mainland Venezuela, amid ratcheting tensions with the South American nation.

“Well, we’ll see what happens,” Trump replied. “Look, Venezuela is sending us their gang members, their drug dealers, and drugs. That’s not acceptable.”"

That might not seem like a big deal to some but the fact is that Venezuela is big time broadcasting its alliance with China, Maduro was even boasting of the Huawei phone that Xi gave him.

A kinetic war between the US and China would effect us all obviously.

Just to recap, for those not following this, the US has blown up about 4 Venezuelan boats in the Carribbean, claiming they were carrying drugs but providing no proof of that. Now today Trump has followed up on that saying:
"We are certainly looking at Venezuelan land now. We have the sea under control."
This has been interpreted by many as a declaration of war on Venezuela, or something close to it, so much so that some US Senators are calling for a vote there to call a halt to it. In theory only the Senate can declare war.

you wrote some time ago about the "" Irish adventure"" share issue .
this is the Venezuelan adventure -- they have the misfortune to be sitting on the worlds biggest oil deposits and to be living close to pirates who traditionally robbed any country they could to increase the gluttonous 1%.
America is not alone broke but on top of being broke they owe 37 trillion.
they need resources so they have turned to robbery /pickpocketing as the 1% make their money through fraud murder and misery from OxyContin to war and glycophosphate and big pharma who have the power to sign up children for millions of dollars of medical care after they poison them first.
they should take every child molesting robber and bring them to one state along with all the pimps and neocons /war merchants and assorted trash and set fire to the dam state .

Yes and a lot of people are under the illusion that nobody would want a world war. But the Globalists want it, because its set to become one of the main reasons to justify their world government.

Andrew Bridgen, the former MP, just tweeted this:
"The only excuse for a One-World Government [is] that it will supposedly ensure peace*. The only thing that can make people cry for peace is war. War brings chaos, destruction, exhaustion... economic-ruin...heartbroken... mothers and fathers... *Peace becomes worth any price* and that is the emotion upon which the conspirators depend for the success of their satanic plot...'
quote from Myron Fagon."

Yes its totally building up in Venezuela. Maduro a short time ago officially sought military aid from Moscow and now huge Russian transport aircraft are flying into Caracas. This is now the closest spot to WWIII.

The US needs a win somewhere
today the proxy Jewish war against Russia and the cost of sending hundreds of billions to Ukraine and giving satellite services and advanced planning -Abrahams tanks-the list is endless .
this cost is now visible with a few dozen Russian hypersonic missiles and advanced radar and targeting radar being offloaded in Venezuela .
each missile will take out an aircraft carrier which has no defence against them.
many thousands of militia in neighbouring countries have sworn to fight the USA if they land .
Caracas is unusual -it is not a port city --an invading army would have to slog it out each hundred yards at a time to eventually get many miles inland to the city - it has already been christened as trumps Vietnam .

Won't be a good look for the US given that they have initiated the hostilities without any valid cause.
Again given that the US has supplied the vast majority of the weapons hitting Russia.
They really can't point fingers at Russia.
If its China that supplied the anti shipping missiles.
What then.
Remember the Chinese embassy in Serbia?
Very very dangerous game.

The Donald will sort it out, eventually.

Putin-Trump talks in Budapest could happen any day – Orban

Moscow and Washington need to settle “one or two” issues for the meeting to take place, the Hungarian PM has said

A summit between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his US counterpart Donald Trump in Budapest could happen any day, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has said.
Last month, Trump announced he had called off a proposed meeting with Putin in the Hungarian capital, saying that it “did not feel like we were going to get to the place we have to get.” Both the Kremlin and the White House stressed afterwards that the summit had not been canceled, but postponed.
Speaking to reporters en route the US, where he began an official visit on Thursday, Orban told the newspaper Magyar Nemzet that “there are one or two unresolved issues left in US-Russia negotiations” on settling the Ukraine conflict. “If they are resolved, a peace summit in Budapest could take place within days,” he said.
In a later interview with Kossuth Radio, the prime minister expressed confidence that the summit between Putin and Trump in Budapest “will happen,” but stressed that “we do not yet know whether it will bring a solution or simply be an important step toward peace.”

Trump spoke about his efforts to stop the fighting between Moscow and Kiev during a White House dinner with the leaders of Central Asian nations on Thursday, claiming “we have not gotten that yet, but I think we have made a lot of progress.”
The US president’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, echoed those remarks, but added that “there is a lot of discussion that technical teams have to have at the lower level before the leaders can get to a deal.”
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said earlier this week that the conditions for a summit between Putin and Trump are not yet in place.
“A high-level meeting, of any kind, requires in-depth preparation and careful consideration of all aspects. Currently, neither the first nor the second prerequisites for organizing such a meeting has been met,” Ryabkov explained.

The Russian authorities have rejected Western calls for a ceasefire with Ukraine along the current contact line, which was backed by Trump last month. According to Moscow, the conflict requires a permanent solution that would address its root causes.

Orban heads to meet Trump: How conservative allies are repairing Biden-era damage

Lifting sanctions and defunding adversarial NGOs have reset relations, the Hungarian prime minister has said
Orban heads to meet Trump: How conservative allies are repairing Biden-era damage

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban intends to open a new phase of relations with the US during his upcoming trip to Washington this week.
The Hungarian leader, a close conservative political ally of US President Donald Trump, noted on X on Thursday that new opportunities have emerged following years of tension under Joe Biden’s administration.
“The politically motivated sanctions have disappeared, American funding for NGOs attacking Hungary has ended, and we can once again travel to the United States without a visa. With this, the first phase has come to an end,” Orban wrote.

USAID accused of funding anti-Orban groups

In March, Hungary’s Sovereignty Protection Office accused foreign donors of channeling nearly $70 million to organizations allegedly trying to undermine the Orban government.
The report identified the US Democratic Party and allies among business elites, as one of the main contributors, working alongside the EU leadership and major Western foundations, including the Open Society Foundation, the Rockefeller Foundation, and the German Marshall Fund.

Between 2022 and 2024, the US Agency for International Development (USAID) transferred over $10 million to Hungarian activist groups, the office said. The Trump administration has since moved to dismantle USAID, claiming it wasted taxpayer funds on ideologically driven projects that did not serve US national interests.

Biden-era pressure

Relations between Budapest and Washington deteriorated sharply under the Biden administration, which accused Orban of undermining democracy and failing to downgrade ties with Moscow.
In 2024, then US Ambassador David Pressman labeled Orban a “temporary” leader who could not simply “wait out” American pressure, since, he warned, Washington was not sitting idle.
The US imposed visa restrictions on Hungarian passport holders in 2021, citing security concerns – measures that Trump lifted in September.

Budapest peace summit on hold

Orban has consistently criticized Western military aid to Ukraine, arguing that the conflict causes economic damage to the European Union. He said the Biden administration was part of “pro-war international interest groups” pushing for hostilities.

The Hungarian leader expressed strong support for Trump’s mediation efforts, including a summit between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Budapest that was proposed last month. Although both sides agreed in principle, the meeting was postponed after disagreements reportedly emerged over the agenda.

Sanctions, exemptions, and energy security

Following the delay of the summit, the Trump administration imposed new sanctions on Russian oil companies. Hungary, which depends on Russian crude for its refineries, is seeking exemptions from the restrictions.
Budapest has also condemned Kiev’s attacks on the Druzhba pipeline, through which Russian oil flows to Hungary, and accused Brussels of ignoring its legitimate energy concerns for the sake of pro-Kiev policies.
Ukraine justified its attempted sabotage, claiming that no nation should buy Russian products and blasting Hungary’s opposition to its bids to join the EU and NATO.

Militia group agrees to humanitarian ceasefire in Sudan

The Rapid Support Forces paramilitary group has said it is open to talks on ending hostilities after over two years of war with the army

Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF) paramilitary group says it has accepted a US-backed proposal for a humanitarian ceasefire in its war with the Sudanese army, which UN agencies say has devastated cities, crippled healthcare systems, and disrupted the country’s food supply.
The RSF announced the decision on Thursday, weeks after seizing the city of Al-Fashir — the last major army stronghold in Darfur — following an 18-month siege. It said Washington had coordinated the plan with Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and the United Arab Emirates. The mediators have outlined a three-month humanitarian pause leading into a nine-month political process.
“The Rapid Support Forces also looks forward to implementing the agreement and immediately commencing discussions on the arrangements for a cessation of hostilities and the fundamental principles guiding the political process in Sudan, in a manner that addresses the root causes of the conflicts,” a spokesperson for the armed group said in a statement.
READ MORE: Military plane crashes in war-torn Sudan
A Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) official cited by AP said the army will agree to a truce only if the RSF lays down its weapons and withdraws from civilian areas. On Wednesday, SAF commander Gen. Abdel Fattah al-Burhan vowed to “avenge the martyrs and all those who have suffered at the hands of the Rapid Support Militia in Al-Fashir, Al Geneina, Al Jazirah, and every place they have violated.”
Sudan’s war and accusations of foreign meddling

International pressure has intensified since the fall of Al-Fashir. The UN Security Council has condemned the RSF assault on the city and warned of a heightened risk of large-scale, ethnically motivated atrocities. The International Criminal Court has said ongoing violence in and around the city could amount to war crimes and crimes against humanity.

The warring parties have previously agreed to several ceasefire proposals amid a conflict now in its third year, but none have held.
In June, at least five UN aid workers were killed and several others injured when an armed group attacked a humanitarian convoy en route to Al-Fashir.

West planning major sabotage at Zaporozhye nuclear plant – Moscow

European NATO members are pushing Kiev to cause an accident at the facility and blame it on Russia, according to the Foreign Intelligence Service
West planning major sabotage at Zaporozhye nuclear plant – Moscow

The West is urging Kiev to commit a major act of sabotage at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant that would lead to casualties among Ukrainian and EU citizens, Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) has claimed, adding that Moscow is set to be blamed for the incident.
One of the proposals allegedly put forward by Kiev’s foreign backers as the “most effective,” is to commit a “major act of sabotage” that will result in significant civilian casualties, the SVR said.
The West is said to be considering orchestrating an accident at the Zaporozhye NPP, Europe’s largest nuclear power facility, that would lead to a meltdown of the reactor core. The SVR stated that British NGO Chatham House has already calculated the consequences of such an accident and determined that residents of Kiev-controlled territories and EU countries near the Ukrainian western border would be in the area of radioactive particle dispersion.
According to the SVR, the British think tank has noted that “the most challenging aspect of implementing such a plot is determining how to attribute responsibility for the catastrophe to Russia.”
Chatham House is allegedly already preparing arguments for all possible developments of the situation in advance so as to make sure the Western public “unequivocally takes Kiev’s side” in determining who is responsible for the accident, the intelligence service added.

It also noted that the plan is set to be “similar” to the tragedy of Malaysian Airlines flight MH17, which was shot down over eastern Ukraine in 2014, killing 298 people on board. The incident occurred as Kiev’s troops were attempting to retake the then self-proclaimed republics of Donetsk and Lugansk. Ukraine and its Western backers widely blamed the incident on Russia while Moscow has repeatedly denied the accusations, insisting the plane was brought down by a missile only used by Kiev’s forces.
“The collective West is once again ready to deceive and even to kill Ukrainians and citizens of the Western countries in order to attribute the crimes of the Kiev regime to Russia and to justify its Russophobic policy and efforts to incite the war,” the SVR concluded.
