Message: <blockquote data-quote="BIG FAT HOOR" data-source="post: 145124" data-attributes="member: 5541">THE ROUTE TO HERE .I tried various diets I attended seminars of diet gurus and bought their books and enrolled  as a dutiful acolyte of the great man and then never thought of the bastard again  as is the Irish way.I then went to my doctor who suggested various options and i studied them and for the first time in my life i read about ME .I NEVER KNEW ME EXISTED and there are millions of us .SEE BODYWHYS WEBSITE .BINGE EATING  describes this zoo animal perfectly --shocking perfectly and all my wife had observed for years was laid out on a page in front of me --it was a shock but a beautiful shock to a bus mechanic who's life's modus opperandi is to ruthlessly /truthfully identify the problem and fix it in my manner which means it is fixed once and nobody has to fix it again--ever.this description of myself floored me as I thought I was a private freak show I never knew there was millions of us.I now had the problem identified and set about fixing the bus.I said to my self I have shelled out over 50,000 on health insurance over the years and now would be a good time to  visit the garage  .I embarked on a journey which took me logically to my great and  experienced GP who referred me to the best --- St Vincent's clinic for those with weight problems and the lead consultant Dr Carol la Roux  a south African was booked out for over a year ahead  due to his reputation and his colleague DR Mick Crotty from Kilkenny who I vaguely knew did instead and he informed me of all the options including   the ozymepic route and the bus mechanic clicked in and I self diagnosed I was a binge eater ,and IT WAS A MENTAL ISSUE NOT A CHEMICAL ISSUE .and I asked was there a person who could persuade me to cease the binge eating  and ---DR AILEEN GERRIHY was recommended for this job .her full title .DR AILEEN GERRIHY THE PHONIX PRACTICE.COGNITAVE ANALYTIC PSYCHOTHERAPIST AND OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST.I commenced approx. by now 10 zoom calls which avoided the dreaded journey to and from Dublin and made her inexpensive fee affordable --it took me time to get a handle on Aileen and the initial consult was a get to know you and about consult no 3 I was asked questions by a lovely kind thoughtful intelligent woman   which stuck me to the chair with  her directness and true focus  and I said to myself this is senior hurling now --no messing here .I was very glad to be confronted with myself by a careful kind human being  who had only my best interests on her mind and the first 2 consults were really for her to identify the zoo animal before her  which you have to admit is very logical ..we progressed and covered various topics including my efforts to  treat my condition with hypnosis and to be told by a  exasperated retired priest who had studied at Harvard "" that some people are incapable of hypnosis ""it deflated me slightly and it confirmed in my mind I was not normal . Aileen laid out my options in a safe and professional manner and was aware the shit had hit the fan at home and I now had to do something which had a result .I then asked who is the best in your opinion and do I have to go abroad like many and she reacted with horror and said GOD NO YOU CAN DO IT HERE IN THE BLACKROCK  within a couple of months and she has sent many patients over her 28 years of treating people for all kinds of eating disorders to DR Robb of the BlackRock clinic .this morning in BlackRock  at 0840 I met a dietician Niamh Forester who advised me on the pre and post operation diet regime which post operation has been unkindly described by my friends as tins of fucking baby food for a good while  and if you touch a bag of chips or a Chinese or anything fatty your body will reject it and you will puke it up -- they were not a million miles out.I then met the great DR Robb from Antrim who was very professional and made a good impression and explained the choices and I told him I had read his  excellent website which explains the options in a clear and very understandable manner and the most trouble free option was option 1-- remove 2/3rds of the stomach --this was his assessment for me and my age also and did not remove the most weight but left me with a healthy simple lifestyle . this is the route now chosen and I will inform you all when the great event will take place and the results of all the tests and internal scopes  and other --the opinion of the shrink will of course be private but most of you could offer I am sure a professional opinion of sorts .I will keep you posted .</blockquote>
