On the 25 April 2024 the Garda Public Order unit cleared the protestors from around the House, and migrants were bused in. This violent act, with the first widespread use of pepper spray from the Gardai, led to considerable outrage in Ireland and many large supporting protests were held there in subsequent days. The protestors recreated the camp twice more but these were also destroyed. On that Monday morning, at 3.30 am, Gardai, security personnel and workmen arrived armed with a JCB to destroy the camp.
