The purpose of the original British plantation’s were to establish non-Irish Protestants loyal to the Crown and displace native Irish Catholics. The main objectives being a major land grab for control and economic exploitation, the spread of Protestantism and ultimately to snuff out any whiff of rebellion. So, are the ancestors of these invaders to be considered Irish now? Are their descendants still in positions of power in government, big business and the media?</blockquote>
