First it seemed like a day, then a week, now we have the Southern version of the marching season with huge gay pride parades in virtually every small town in Ireland, with huge 'celebrations' in Dublin for example, with massive flag poles flying their flag all over the city for what seems like months.Do people object to this and if so should they protest against it? There is almost no opposition to this around Ireland, as far as I know, except for:- Recent objections to a gay pride walk up Croagh Patrick, with a distorted image of the Child of Prague, which was protested against in Westport nearby and then didn't go ahead.- John McGhee, pictured and originally of Ashbourne in Co. Meath, held up a sign critical of such a march in Portlaoise and was convicted for so doing sometime later (and brought to the Garda station in a car decked out in LGBT colours).- For I think the last three years a small group, led by Gerry McGeough, has objected to the parade in Omagh by saying a Rosary outside the Catholic Church while they pass by. Yesterday they protested again as you can see in the short video, and in earlier years they got a lot of abuse, including a serious punch aimed at Gerry.So what is the view of this parish on same, do you like this transformation of the Irish street landscape?
