In fact I think it was largely a realisation that his party was stagnating which caused him to fall off the wagon after 10 years of sobriety. It is a bit unseemly to even bring it up - but it's already been publicly stated, and it was a very relevant factor which caused the breakdown in trust for his leadership. It is hard to trust someone's judgement when they are speaking of their "imminent" seizure of power due to an economic catastrophe and the need to be more true to National Socialism and Hitler if you had witnessed him in such a low state only a few months before.</blockquote>
