It is this move by Russia to take back control of its assets and the country as a whole that has really annoyed and frightened the west. It could be argued that the sanctions against Russia have backfired in a way that perhaps will prove to be the real disaster for Europe amongst this growing mess, By cutting off trade the west has made it easier for Russia to reconfigure the management of its resources and orientate itself towards developing countries, although relying on China and Brazil might turn out to be problematic in the future.</blockquote>
