Athlone protest site.png

53.433095, -7.907938

The Department of Education, who have a lot of their national offices here, and maybe other government departments, own a comparatively large greenfield site on the Eastern side of Athlone town, Co. Westmeath. This bounded by the Ballymahon road out of Athlone to the North, the motorway to the South and the slip road off the motorway to the East. This already contains a migrant centre and last Monday week locals were told that a new large centre, with upwards of 1,000 people, was to be accommodated on this site. That first word, given to local Councillors on the Monday, was followed by heavy machinery moving in the next day, Tuesday, much to the horror of many locals in Athlone. Particularly on the two Saturdays since then, but in fact every evening, there has been large protests against this site.

It is being developed by Trailhead Unlimited, a company, the government assures us, with great experience in the field. But when local Councillors pursued the matter they found that the company was only founded about three weeks ago, with just a company postal box in Dublin and no way of finding out who actually benefits from this large and lucrative government contract. Meanwhile last night, Friday 19th Oct 2024, one of the protestors seeking to block security staff from entering and leaving the site, was actually run over by the security guard's jeep. He, Michael Clavin, was admitted to hospital in Tullamore for quite serious tests and injuries, but he managed to make it to the protest on the Saturday, albeit on crutches.

Welcome back, Scolairebocht!

It's great to see you still fighting the good fight, unlike that Aussie who knew next to nothing about Ireland or its rich culture.

I’m not privy to the private thread where ye debated, however I know from this side of the fence that you are welcomed back as a top contributor to the site.

He did seem quite fond of himself though—he loved the smell of his own shit. That’s for sure.

Many thanks Tiger! No I didn't contribute to, or read any, private thread on the matter, all that I said was on the public thread.

1000 people?? Sure they'll really need to build a new town for that volume of planting . . .
Sure once they (the planted) start spreading their seed there'll soon enough be 1000 + 1000 = 3000 plus some more the following year = 4000!! All from the original 1000's desire to live long and prosper with a mate, plus any new foreign arrivals which are keen to follow the example of the original 1000.

What's everyone going to do?? Sit around the centre of traditional Athlone before working at the . . . Oops! All the available jobs have been taken up by 25 years of constant foreigner immigration already.

The planners and social architect's are getting paid to introduce the plantation and then most of them will probably fuck-off on mega bonuses like the vaxx pushers did and so the local towns folk will then just have to adapt on their own. I hope they adapt very well and create new systems for themselves too;)

Where is the money coming from
Good question for a government/ local authority which has great difficulty keeping a garda station or wee post office open, such a difficulty to the point of closure despite the need and protests from the townsfolk.
Our medical waiting list's for Irish children are a tragic disgrace, and look! . . . Government want to add in thousands of new foreign kids. It's all a bit nuts to say the least.

They could be in just a few locations but they are all over the country to make it quicker to deploy to kill the natives

@scolairebocht is most certainly welcome

As would @Fishalt be, if he came back, by me

You, on the other hand, are a fucking toad who sucked up to the Aussie when it suited you. I hope Fishalt learnt his lesson good and proper

Oh great, James is drunk once again.

Expect a night of shitposting and random crappy music videos plastered around various threads that don’t fit in to any discussion.

He may even end up being banned for the 2nd time this week alone.

Didn't follow the thread. Just fyi. The other day I was in Castleisland Co Kerry o car related matters.. Had time to spare walked up into the town. Now I might be completely paranoid. But as I was passing the River Island Hotel they were moving divan beds and mattresses out and brand new ones in. In October.
For what kind of - 'guests' exactly??
Watch this space. They are subverting everything.

To recap, the Department of Education, which has its national offices here in the eastern end of Athlone, owns an extensive green field site which is suddenly been turned into a huge migrant centre, pretty much overnight and without any planning permission.

The locals held a meeting in a hotel in Athlone on Tuesday but in the absence of any good news have decided to step up the protests, particularly from last Friday. So now they are on the job from about 5am to 10 pm everyday, trying to prevent the construction workers and equipment from getting in and out. These vehicles are coming and going, but only with difficulty and under Garda escort, hence the Public Order Unit (one of whom must be over 7 foot tall) has been there all day today, Monday 11th Nov 2024.

So basically the opposition in Athlone is increasing somewhat and they are also getting more determined in their picketing of this entrance as well. Its good news then but they are under a lot of pressure, some of the vehicles are even driven at speed and they could really do with any help they can get.

Every town's going to have a Latin Quarter, Chinatown, Paki Curry mile, African Indian taxi's, Polish plumbers, Brazilian rickshaw drivers, Mozzie mosques, Roma beggars, Albanian E.European dealers, global scammers, hustlers, grifters, occupiers, scabs etc etc but . . .
The rest of the neighbourhood will remain much the same as has always been, out of town - No one could care less . . . 95% of the country that is.

That's what I usually say on journey's through parts of town, but rarely have cause to mention in select suburbs/& 95% rest of the country.
95% of the country isn't affected by 'multiculturalism'?

What r u talking about?

What do we know? how aware? There's much to discuss.
Above posts I'm referring to how things appear in a long established 'plant town/region'.

It seems that locals do the same stuff largely unaffected and unaware of foreigner presence/culture. Exceptions being where large foreigner settlements are planted (Coolock, dundrum, athlone, newtown m. etc but . . . Everyone else is mostly passively on-board to live and let live . . .

The adversely affected areas and populations are relatively small, powerless, unknown and easily ignored as not my problem - "keep your hands off my stack"

Just a quick update on Athlone. The construction is going on at pace and some migrants have been brought in yesterday, but the protestors are also hanging in there, there seems to be some kind of presence all day and at least well into the night if not 24/7.

But they are also driven from pillar to post by the Gardai. First the tables, gazebo and generator have been destroyed/confiscated then, to try and stave off the extreme cold and wet out there, they had a barrel to light a fire in. That was confiscated, then another barrel was taken away, and now they are driven to just put an open fire on the ground and, as you see above, are making the tea with an open kettle swung across onto the fire. Its very reminiscent of an old Ireland, but also easily taken away so not so easy for our enemies to confiscate.

There will be a march on Sunday at 1o'clock from Athlone town centre, beside the library in the very centre of the town, out to the site on the Ballymahon/Glasson Road. So hopefully you will all be there!

Sure, okay, of course it's not everyone but I've seen and heard no criticisms or even a squeak of protest talk in the locality of the Planted Planting centre with it's new under construction massive 4-5 storey sprawling blocks complex situated on the central high ground overlooking and over shadowing, dominating the whole skyline of a traditional old community.
There's already plenty enough, too many foreigners, going around the small old place from the existing centre and now we wait for the new super centre to be completed and it looks like enough for 200 or more arrivals, oh and foreigners occupy 25%+ of the old rental houses on the parallel streets
And that's just one section of a towns quarter
It looks starkly as I've described and yet, no one has complained but me and then greeted with silence in reply or a very quite whispered 'Yeah hmmmm'

Meanwhile, look at the Athlone Vid above, where's "everyone else"??

Great credit to the men who do.

T'was a great day out. Certainly worth the effort to attend and lend support.

A pity that the numbers weren't there, but those who did made up for it with brilliant strength of character.

Gotta say, I was overwhelmed with a strange and unusual feeling from being amongst the demonstrators, being in their company one feels so very proud to be among those Irish Patriots.

Great times ahead ;)

It's all very one sided from the Planting side. Yes the Plants have been subjected to a little shock and awe to keep it real - Now the anxiety has been equally spread and not just upon the shoulders of the Irish local community.

There are issues which the arrivals would not be aware of but now they are getting to know the locality a bit better.

Same with the Authorities who have been largely ignoring the requests, needs and feelings of the local communities, homeless and towns folk,

Hopefully the demonstration and messages sent will have a positive outcome when councillors & TD's decide to treat locals equally and with a good respect.

According to the Article, the arrivals had to move into the canteen to feel secure - Wow!! I Bet Irish Homeless would love a secure compound with warm canteen, facilities, security and space off the streets as a standard, away from the abuse, attacks, cold death and hazards of the filthy city streets.

Always such a hopeless hands wringing approach to Local Irish Development from the Trougher's . . .
That's what the Demo is trying highlight, and a strong warning to the troublemakers among the arrivals, to be sure to behave and have a very good respect around settled private local areas.

Make no mistake, Locals will protect their interests where Government fail by design.

Too late now, the job is finished. Should have been dealt with much sooner.

Yeah but, It's all happened very quickly - The Numbers have mushroomed overnight in some cases.

See, there has been a steady trickle of 'refugees' into Ireland for the last 25+ years. It's been originated and motivated by Christian churches and their NGO's & Charities.
Those spiritual organisations are global in scope and part of their mission is to bring foreigners into Ireland and vitally, the mission is to place responsibility into the hands & hearts of Ireland's 'Flock' Catholic & Protestant!

So the Local populations got in on 'Helping the Mission' achieve their directives while our large local convent and considerable grounds was converted into a Holy IPAS centre before it's time (20 years ago) so people took it as Gods work and bowed their heads in submission,=.

Now that same estate has 2 cranes erecting a sprawling 4 storey complex on those elevated prime positions (Gods work) Crucifixes on all the gables keep the locals at bay.

See, whats going on??
A bit like being a devoted Catholic whose a bit skeptical of Jabs but il Papa tells you to do it! It's 'An act of love'

Ones control is ceded to authority - No questions asked - Not a murmur!

Etc etc etc . . .

It's too funny - We have Oxfam, Concern & Trocaire continually dropping in the Junk mail letters looking for us to support Asians, Indians & Africans who are having troubles while we are giving Billions in resources & property and 1st class to them and their kids here.

Dear God, what more will you ask from us - What? There is more to be done!!😲
