I absolutely agree that everybody should be talking about vote rigging, I mentioned it on A J Cahill's twitter thread so I wonder what he thinks about it.
It's a script. It doesn't have to happen. It just has to semi-plausibly seem to happen. But then how can Hutch be a Government plant to steel Steenson's votes if it doesn't happen because of PR?
This is misleading, you are not accounting for Thomas getting 10,000 first preferencesCahill is getting the same approx 1% anti mass migration vote that we got in the last General, Local and European elections. Yeah right, the same people that can get 100,000's on the streets of Dublin on occasion...
It makes no difference because the total vote is still not even close to be within pissisg distance of winning.Still can't understand Bocht's insistence that splitting the vote is grand because its proportional representation.
What makes you so sure that is the correct number? The fact that the returning officer in Galway declared it to be so? The civil service vote counters? The honesty of the Garda Sicini? This is misleading, you are not accounting for Thomas getting 10,000 first preferences
A Innealtoir! The first rule of computers: Garbage In., Garbage Out!There are about 48000 votes and he got 10000. And almost won. That is pretty amazing
Bocht is absolutely wrong.Bocht is absolutely correct to say that in proportional representation splitting the vote doesn't really happen.
Eist go curamach leis an ceist. What makes you think that figure is accurate? Did an angel come to you in a dream and reveal the number? Do you trust the combined honesty of Art O'Leary at the Election commison, the lady returning officer, the civil servants, men in white vans and the Garda Sicini?Half the people voting is a good tirnout for a by election
Well in " normal " parties that might be the case but with these two parties ~ Who knows ? !Moving on , what I wished to see were accomplished. FF were destroyed in both places. FG in one because the lad in Galway is well liked.
Sinn Féin coming 2nd, surely means the end of Mary Moo. And Michael Martin is surely gone as well. FF backbenchers will definitely both afyer seeing Thomas top the poll.
Social Democrats would be the last party I'd consider on our side of the argumentIt is over in Dublin. I am delighted with the result
Why is the Site owner "delighted with the result" Sir?Social Democrats would be the last party I'd consider on our side of the argument
Maybe he has lost his Marbles ? !Why is the Site owner "delighted with the result" Sir?
Steenson may well have moved in to position to win a seat in that constituency at the next Election, especially if the Tout Hutch would spend more time with his Crimes ! ! !What is not to like, surely to god ye did not actually Stetson to win.
Now, I am just wakened after an alarming dream pertending my death and I see people making merry at the expense of their fearless leader.
Ye would be better occupied worried about the african in galway who beirve it or not, could actually now win the seat
I guess, realistically, that's the best outcome we could have got (would add the Nigerian, was also way off the pace in Galway, despite this being a strong labour seat, if labour had of ran an Irish candidate, they would have won). Question, why is the fg candidate so well liked, he failed to get elected last time around, madness that anyone would vote for him this time.Moving on , what I wished to see were accomplished. God help me, ye are still stuck on stetsonSteenson may well have moved in to position to win a seat in that constituency at the next Election, especially if the Tout Hutch would spend more time with his Crimes ! ! !
You can be a right Cow-Boy at times ! ! !God help me, ye are still stuck on stetson
Because he had a running mate that got electedI guess, realistically, that's the best outcome we could have got (would add the Nigerian, was also way off the pace in Galway, despite this being a strong labour seat, if labour had of ran an Irish candidate, they would have won). Hard to know which way ogbu and soc dems transfers will go, don't necessarily think they will transfer to a government candidateKyne getting a nice transfer for FF and he will eventually win by about 4000 votes.
I can't see enough going to Thomas alright !They will go anyplace but Thomas. A great number will not transfer, this late in the counts
Who is Kirby ? !Ogbu is eliminated on 13000 votes and it is very likely that the vast majority that do transfer will go to Kirby
It would be funny if Thomas won with transfers from the Labour candidate !I can't see Thomas getting enough of these Votes but one must hope !
