Lol. Anyways I don't really know much about it, I presume they are linked to Sinn Fein?
 
Well I just assume so because obviously they tend to be big supporters of Palestine and would presumably be numerous in Armagh? They probably aren't just college students anyway looking at them?
 
I thought there was a mix of ages in the Cathedral? And among the protestors?
 
Fr Barry Matthews, from Dundalk, was the celebrant and replied by saying:
"[Armagh faith community is]...not a political organisation...we here as a parish community have given 5,000 pounds...[for Gaza]. We don't use mass as a quick snapshot or screenshot...Let us not use the church as a place of political statement."

You always have to put that in every time the Church is mentioned, but just look at the video, there are some young and old there. If I was to concede anything I would admit its not exactly packed, which is a pity because it is a Sunday.

By the way in case people are wondering, the Pro Cathedral is Dublins only Catholic Cathedral. Its 'Pro' as in Provisional, i.e. a temporary thing awaiting a proper Cathedral. There were plans to build one in Merrion Square but Archbishop McQuaid spent the money on hospitals and schools instead, and there was also a hope of using one of the two great ancient Cathedrals of Dublin, but that also fell through.

So after all the hypology about the supposed Catholic theocracy of Ireland in the 1950s etc etc, they didn't even have a proper Catholic Cathedral in the capital city. National events, like the celebrations over the adopting of the constitution in 1937, were held in the Protestant St Patrick's Cathdral, of course also because the first President was Protestant.

We must remember that it is supposedly the same God that they are supposed to believe and have faith in.

Surely the churches must acknowledge the destruction and desecration of their holy land and peoples?

I'd imagine the "disrupters" were Irish Catholics (probably not even a dreaded atheist among them) drawing attention to not just the plight of Christians in Palestine and clapped by their Irish coreligionists

I'm not sure why people are getting so het up about it. Then again, there are some on here like @Tiger who think that only (exclusionary) Catholicism can save the nation, when in reality it has as much chance of doing that as Marxist Republicanism does (neither ideology having a nationalist bone in its body)

When the Islamics are driving over Christians at Christmas markets, burning chapels in Paris or Mayo and now disrupting Christmas Mass, they can go fuck themselves. the building they were in is dedicated to the CHRISTian religion and it has a cross on the spire to show how cruel the death was when Christ died in Palestine .
along the walls are the stations of the cross with scenes from Palestine in the background and they tell a story of what happened in Palestine .
the people in your video seemed to have permission to show what is happening in Palestine today .
two questions to whoever is disturbed by this -- are you offended because you are required to have morals and support those in frighting and pure evil circumstances.
since the building and the organization is Christ centered how do you think Christ would act today -- would he be annoyed that somebody actually cared enough to do something trivial like hold a piece of paper overhead .
i think what happened here is more profound and it makes people uncomfortable that the catholic church is not defending Christs people at all.
the catholic church could end this as it has the power wealth and influence to roast the American congress men who allow this and fund this disgusting genocide on the poorest of the poor .

Not so quick please. The Pro Cathedral is a centre for the Church of England and it's splinter sect's.

Surely we face an almighty paradox within that organisation where they pray for peace & goodwill but condone the destruction of the M.E. and all faiths of God turned to dust through the WW3 that their blessed King & Country wrought upon the World?

Good that the church goers received a little reminder of what their God is used for.

thanks for your great reply -it shows the state of mind of many today --many are so threatened by what is happening in Gaza and what they see on their phones and know America dropped the equivalent of 3 atomic bombs on Gaza on the poorest of the poor in a concentration camp and this is all paid for by America --the Israelis get to do this genocide for free .
