I propose non-injurious whipping.

The reason for my enthusiasm is that pain is a wonderful help to training people, even if they don't want to be trained. It works with clever people, stupid people and even for black brown and jewish people. It is an excellent way to train psychopathic people to imitate the behaviour of good people.

I have a hypothesis: Whipping reduces recidivism. It would great to test this. For one year, any person convicted of anything gets a whipping as well. I suspect our native criminal Lumpen Proletariat would "get with the programme" very quickly.

I suffered a couple of painful cuts from a bow saw in '78 and that pain trained me to be more careful.

It is important that the whipees get a full and fair trial. The public humiliation part is even more important than the infliction of pain. It should be a different person doing each whipping.

The basic problem with thieves, liars, thugs, rapists, etc is bad attitude. Let's see if a litlle tickle with a whip changes that attitude...

years ago I was in India and we sat down in a hotel and watched the local news and then to BBC world service to see was there anything happening at home .
we were mesmerised by the local news and the provincial head of India's police force was being interviewed and high ranking Indian officials tend to use 200 years old Dickensian very formal English .
and we were looking at a satellite photo of an area south of a city which had an outbreak of an Ebola type plague where most of the residents of the city had left/abandoned their homes/fled as fast as they could.
the satellite photos showed a grey herd approaching the city --this herd was vast in size and was spread over miles .
I wondered what was this approaching a city with Ebola and I was sure the chief of police shouted WE ARE READY FOR THE MISCREANTS into the camera .
I asked a local what is going on and he said there are quarter of a million thieves approaching the city across country as the roads are blocked by police .
I stared at him and said this is the herd --and he smiled yes this is the herd -I asked how will they cope with 250,000 thieves ---he again smiled and said they will destroy them and beat them into pulp as they have the Indian army with them and they will release all of their aggression on them and beat them to a pulp and break all the bones in their back and legs and limbs.
many of them will never walk again -he said .
I am only relating this to illustrate that the criminal class are professional criminals and know no other life and are not deterred by Indian police who carry 6 ft long poles which are swung through the air as hard as they can and when they land THEY DO BREAK BONES AND SKULLS as this is the stated aim of using a 6 ft staff to beat a person quickly into submission and quickly move onto the next person .
corporal punishment does not work in some countries and the chopping off of hands of the thief does stop MOST thieving in Arab countries BUT NOT ALL as there is a breed of person who is destined to be a scumbag no matter what .

When it said Plymouth I thought it was the UK but then I saw a picture of the wife and I knew it was USA.

What is it about American women that looks different to women from these islands?
 
It happened in the town of Duxbury. That is in Plymouth County, so the court is in the county town, which is the town of Plymouth.

The Duxbury police would have handled the scene, with EMTs and the Duxbury fire department

But does corporal punishment actually work? Here is an essay which suggests the opposite, although it doesn't link to any of the studies it refers to.

Such practices will no doubt attract the sadists and masochist. Would there be the same enthusiasm for whipping if the administrator of the lashes was getting a sexual thrill from it?

Obviously it won't work all the time. But it will work some of the time. And it will be fun and we can make money off it.

Singapore cane people if they outstay their visas or if they employ illegal foreigners. There isn't really a problem with immigration in Singapore...

Let's try it for a year.
