It has been in the news a lot the past week that the UK government are planning to clamp down on long-term social welfare Disability claims, Here in Ireland, I know lots of men in their 50s and 60s who have been on Disability allowance for 25+ years due to a "bad back", these lads spend all their time in the bookies and the pub and have a pretty lonely life. Apparently since the 2008 crash, it's been a lot harder to claim disability allowance here but anyone on it longer than that have been left alone.

Too many simple reasons to claim, apparently one lad in the UK was claiming a BMW on that car allowance they have for disabilities, he only had ADHD!

Granted he had to fund the extra over the allowance for the BMW but still who wouldn't want a state subsidised BMW!

The problem for Labour is that a good chunk of their supporters are these benefit living types.
