Raul was nominated as the pastor of St. Brendan's Church of the Bronx, N.Y. There was a 24 hour lower church that he closed. Now the upper church is not open as much as it used to be. He closed the bathrooms using covid as a justification. He stopped the film series, using the pandemic as an excuse. In addition, he placed barricades between the pews which make the place feel more like a museum than a church. Even though there is a funeral home nearby, he stopped the church calendar. He stopped the Tenebrae masses. He avoid showing up for confession and uses another priest often.  If I ask the priest Fr. Perez a question about God during confession then he may say that I am disrupting the process. He is available by appointment only even for the deacon. The pastor avoids saying sermons for his daily masses and saying "Body of Christ" when giving the Holy Communion. He has avoided answering theological questions. He also avoided going to masses and events done by others in the parish. Yet this pastor got renominated. In a similar way,  President Biden could get reelected too.
