Those unaware of the messages of the famous Fatima apparitions in Portugal, in 1917, might want to bone up asap.
These were pre-revolutionary prophecies that discussed the rise of soviet Russia, the spread of Communism in the world, various worlds wars, the collapse of Holy Mother Church as the result of corrupt churchmen, and ultimately Russia, used as God's instrument of both punishment and redemption for a faithless world gone bad.
Over the years there has been much discussion of these events as they apparently play put before our eyes. Current world events viewed through this lens is well worth the exercise.
The short story is this - we are on the verge of a Great War, prosecuted by the West, but that will ultimately result in Russian victory, the annihilation of various nations of the Earth (this is explicitly mentioned in the text of the prophecies) and eventual global peace as the result of a renewed and purified Christian faith in the world.
There have been various spin off mystics who had added to the Fatima messages. For example, some nations will be converted almost over night, for others it will be the work of many years.
This thread will be dedicated to exploring the various issues, as per the messages and commentary of current events in light of said messages.
There is a very simple action of good v evil at work here, despite the apparent man made complexities that we like to confuse ourselves with. Hubris in other words.
One of the messages of Fatima discusses corruption in the Catholic Church (who can argue that didn't occur?) and the rise of an anti-pope as things really come to a significant juncture.
This first video discusses the claims by the late Father Malachi Martin, as to who might be a good candidate for this anti-pope, and what that means as far as the current place in the timeline of events is concerned.
Interestingly, Fr Martin claimed to have read the text of the messages, withheld from the public all these years, and in this 1991 interview he describes the significance that Moscow and Kiev play in these end-times events.
