Unlike Jim I walk around these streets every day and have watched as they've steadily deteriorated; how they've gone from being largely working/lower class Dublin communities to being completely alien, foreign slum areas. There are certainly problems with teenagers and assorted Irish dregs in the north inner city, but ask any Irish person living and working on the Northside and they'll tell you that the most striking thing about the place is how foreign  it is. You can walk from chapel street down to Connolly station and not hear anything Irish accent. You would never think you're in an Irish city: loudmouth Africans, Roma gypsies, gangs of loitering goat herders. Nobody thinks it's "safe" apart from wealthy, out of touch ginps who never fking frequent the place.</blockquote>
