Sarsfields has been going for over 3 years now.

The site Declan has provided us has been a great lifeboat for all of us, as refugees from other sites.

Sadly, though, despite being a website open to all, our membership has stalled and in some cases declined, with losses such as @SwordOfStZip.

With the closure of Politics.ie and PoliticalIrish.com, we should have picked up a fair few weary members looking for a new home. Sadly, however, we haven’t really attracted any. Even @SwordOfStZip hasn’t returned, which in itself is strange.

Declan, of course, has done great work with his YouTube channel, even advertising the site on there. Yet, despite thousands of views, very few people have actually come over to join in the discussion.

I think for the site to expand, we need to broaden our appeal. We all need to play a greater part in being positive members, and even if we disagree, we should avoid childish insults and be the bigger person regardless of others’ political ideologies.

Sarsfields does have a place—especially with the closure of other sites, including Boards.ie. The opportunity to attract new posters should be at an all-time high.

I think as a community we need to come together, actively come up with ideas and suggestions, and all play our part. Along with that, we may also need some new rules and stronger moderation to put an end to thread derailment and constant personal abuse, if we truly have the site’s best interests at heart and cherish being part of this community.

With that, I look forward to all of your input and hopefully we can, together, come up with some great ideas.

No idea how to advertise a site, really

Do you have Sword's email (to send her one and ask her - What's the story?)

I've tried my way (bumping her threads, mentioning her and so on)..

Not sure what Declan has done but I do know she went awol on here with no reason and was posting away on P.ie. I would have thought with P.ie dead she would have returned.

Can I ask just how popular discussion forums like this are? Like how popular/active was Boards ie before going down? I know that apart from this site, I cant be arsed with other forums. One that I used to read was Irishrepublican.net. It was moribund for a long time and just after checking whats happening there now and it seems to have been closed down.

She left for no reason as far as I know. I screwed up over a year ago and deleted her by mistake. She returned a month or so later.

But notice the day she left was exactly a year after she returned, that had to be deliberate

I did notice that Dan, after you had mentioned it. And here is the evidence for anyone who's too lazy to check for themselves -

It's just weird that she would hold a grudge like that. Obviously what you did was a mistake. A stupid mistake but a mistake nonetheless

A stupid mistake. @Tiger is right DTD. But we will struggle on. As mentioned above these platforms can not compete with say a telegram live chat . It must have an “edge” . I am striving to be a voice and actually am making good progress.

SarsfieldsVirtualPub ie, me and brian on utube are known well in nationalist circles. Now we are joined by two serious men to make 4. We are about to go into a live video chat shortly. Maybe Tuesday on an experimental basis
