It's been brought to my attention that the regime rushed this through in the last days before the dail broke up , now I know we here have a very good idea of what this was done ......this was in no manifesto or program for government , it's being sold as a method to remove migrants but I for one do not believe This ......am I wrong here ??

This government is totally out of control and we are almost at the point of physical force resistance

I have a suspicion that "credible threat to the State" actually means "threat to the elites" šŸ™
Under the plan, if someone who was granted citizenship in Ireland is viewed as a credible threat to the State they can have that citizenship withdrawn.

If someone does not have another citizenship can you actually under International Law strip people of their citizenship?

The Hitlerite regime has historically- rightly in my opinion- gotten a lot of flack for stripping people of their citizenship when they did not have another one to fall back on.

Correct. They cannot do this.
This only applies to awarded citizenships.
Not that these finer points of law would stop them.

The thing is that all Nordies now have automatic ROI citizenship- and IRA Volunteers, etc have used this in the past. We also all have automatic UK citizenship. I think given what I know about FG they were thinking in terms of stuff like this and not Jihadists or Neo-Nazis or whatever.

Oh the tangled webs. All of them against the born and bred's these days.
 
They won't be able to deport us but stripping us of citizenship would leave this very tight , you would be the blacklisted man all work rights gone , driving licence gone , voting rights gone , passport gone , bank account gone ......the regime would squeeze you out like a sponge with a hammer like this
We are are very close to disaster here , it's the most authoritarian period of my entire life and the direction of travel seems to be one way only

Not sure about the automatic right to UK citizenship for ROI citizens. The Irish can vote in the UK, as can the British in Ireland, but do not get a UK passport, nor do UK citizens automatically get an Irish passport.

Yes people from England can automatically vote in the ROI and also get Welfare also I think and visa versa.

However to take out a Republic of Ireland Passort would mean going through the process for them of obtaining citizenship which a Nordie would not have to do.

It would probably actually harder for an English person with a University education to take out full ROI citizenship than for some Nigerian because they might well as that the former wants the Passport for spying missions or something like that.

I could count the amount of women in executive roles that I have encountered, who are competent, on one hand.
