Feudalism of course seems barbaric to us-  but t'was an age in which every Irishman / every fellow European could truly call their homeland, their mother nation. As much as I love to read about the French Revolution, I still read Hillaire Beloc......the Enlightenment of Voltaire and Jefferson wielded many benefits....but perhaps such men and their ideas are outdated, perhaps we need a new European ideal. Again- I'm bigoted towards European Enlightenment ideals....bul looking around at the world of me today.....I can no longer claim that my idealism is all but correct and yours wrong You're a good poster and I don't always agree with you - but please continue to challenge minds in the way that you do.</blockquote>
