Message: <blockquote data-quote="BIG FAT HOOR" data-source="post: 141166" data-attributes="member: 5541">I  have done some work for the Bangladeshi community in Kilkenny  for many years .I buy food wholesale from the main supplier of Indian restaurants in Ireland . most of them are from Sylhet  as are most Bangladeshi in the UK .the British embassy is in Sylhet and I stayed in the British high commission compound in the tea gardens of Sylhet.and the community here are aware my wife and I travelled in Bangladesh --one of the few people they know who is familiar with their country  and  have seen terrifying conditions and the worlds biggest leprosy hospital  and vast poverty  and i had to go from safe house to safe house to get to the airport in Dhaka as they were killing anyone who travelled by car as they were having a hartal a national strike and it took 3 days to cross Dhaka safely .I do not know of a  Indian restaurant in the south east of Ireland ,95% are Bangladeshi and a scattering of Malaysian.Kilkenny's st lukes hospital could not open without the 120 ish nurses from Kerala in the south of India .I work for them also and bring them to knock to pray with their shrine in the rear which takes 4 to carry and 10 to assemble as it is so ornate . they have their own days in knock and are very religious   and a crowd of 7000 would not be unusual there . vans come from Sligo with warm trays of chicken biryani and they know my wife likes Indian food  as she teaches some of their kids and they give me half a dozen trays for her .The people from Kerala are a cut above many Irish in many ways and I find them a joy to deal with-- they are like us 50 years ago very devout .if I had not been to India also I am not sure i would have the same kindness to them .I had a fascinating time in India and I had a rover ticket for Indian airlines cost 400 dollars available only outside India .I did approx. 6000 miles on various flights for a month and got to see as much as I could .it can be extremely dangerous --and your health can suffer --you cannot travel alone and you cannot under take even small journeys without a sane adult nearby to watch over you .I put off taking my"" children "" to India who are now qualified teachers as they are too immature to understand the culture of India which  is vast in importance and scale -- India is like going to mars .yes the smell of piss does not end until you are 30,000 ft up in the air .everyone who can should go to India -- everyone who has good health and can survive dysentery and  other odds and ends  which I got from ice in drinks .I would not survive India today I am too old for India .</blockquote>
