Merry Christmas to everyone at Sarsfields!

A big shout-out to Declan, who keeps the place running and keeps the lights on. Fair play to you.

Wishing all the posters, lurkers, and regulars a great Christmas and a brilliant New Year. Thanks for the laughs, the debates, and the craic throughout the year — here’s to more of the same in 2026. 🎄🍻

Nollaig Shona daoibh go léir!

Did ye all get what ye wanted for Christmas. I want a nice relaxing day, followed by silver going up tomorrow.

Saturday I have a tour.

I am thinking of retiring from active tours, I dont need to do them any more. If I do continue, I will use the money for my pet projects

Happy Christmas and let's hope for some dropping off of tension conflict next year.

Are you in Boston?

Gurb amlaidh daoibhse.

Amazing day: full sun all day and not a single plane in the air all day long. It was like the truce in 1914 - only lasted one day, but still wonderful.

Less of your Paddy Whackery Catholic bigotry Sir. A man who's dared not mention Tone or Emmet's name even once on this Forum.

Shame.

Boxing Day is for West Brits. You are declaring yourself a West Brit. The original planters.

Just ask SeekTheFairLand aka the Nordie what the RC church did to Irish patriots. You were totally shamed on here before Sir.

As Michael Collins said of O'Connell "All he wanted was a Catholic Provence."

The story of St Stephen is interesting. He, bravely but perhaps a little foolishly, used to go to the synagogues in Jerusalem and publicly criticise the rabbis. So they put him on trial and stoned him to death.

I'm sure there is a moral in this story, but I'm not quite sure what it is. It's good to criticise Jewish rabbis, just make sure you stay out of stone's throw?

A picture that adorned many's a mantlepiece across Ireland right into the early 20th Century.
