Your intrepid sarsfieldsvirtualpub reporter was at todays protest in Multyfarnham Co. Westmeath in support of Enoch Burke, and briefly spoke to him alongwith Ross Lahive.
He said he feels he is only doing his duty as a teacher in coming to work there and is currently located outside his former classroom, inside on the school grounds rather than at the outside gates. He brings with him his teacher style briefcase, but also a small plastic footstool.
The powers that be seemed more annoyed at this protest than earlier ones at that site, because they patrolled the surrounding roads informing people that if as much as one wheel was left on the road after cars were parked, that they would be towed away. One protestor, Helen, having already moved her car once, argued the toss with the Gardaí about this and was promptly arrested and taken away.
