The right-wing populist Law and Justice party is on course to win most seats in Poland's general election, an exit poll suggests, but is unlikely to secure a third term in office.
Known as PiS, it is set to win 36.8% of the vote, with the centrist opposition on 31.6%, says the Ipsos poll.
If that is correct, Donald Tusk's Civic Coalition has a better chance of forming a coalition.
He is aiming to end eight years of PiS rule under leader Jaroslaw Kaczynski.

The PiS leader admitted he did not know if the party's "success will be able to be turned into another term in power".
"Poland won, democracy has won," Mr Tusk, 66, told a large crowd of jubilant supporters in what felt like a victory rally in Warsaw. "This is the end of the bad times, this is the end of the PiS government."

There were roars as the exit poll flashed up on the screen and Mr Tusk appeared to loud cheers and chants of his name.
Supporters appeared stunned by the exit poll, and election officials said later that turnout was probably 72.9%, the highest since the fall of communism in 1989.
PiS was heading for 200 seats in the 460-seat Sejm or parliament, it said, which would fall some way short of the 231 seats needed for a majority. It is unlikely to have much help from the far-right Confederation party, whose leader admitted it had fared far worse than expected, with a predicted 12 seats.
Mr Kaczynski has painted his rival as a puppet of Berlin and Brussels and vowed to maintain his party's strong anti-migration policies.

Interesting times ahead, just as the Polish were standing up to the EU it seems an Ex-EU leader (Donald Tusk) has come in and saved Poland from their fate and now will return Poland to the default EU Submissive state!

Is this really the future the Polish wanted, ?

Polish election: Expected political earthquake delights BrusselsThe exit polls from Poland's election have Eurocrats grinning like Cheshire cats.

After years of estrangement and antagonism, Poland's centrist opposition Civic Coalition, has a simple message for Brussels: "We, the fifth-largest country in the EU fold, are back!"
The fact that they're led by former European Council chief Donald Tusk means the EU believes them.
Brussels has been deeply worried about Poland's election.

Little was said in public. EU figures don't want to be seen as interfering in national votes, but behind closed doors there was a tonne of euro-nail-biting.
Poland and Hungary have long been viewed as the EU bad-boys: flawed democracies and EU-hostile.

They were accused of flouting the bloc's democratic norms.
In Poland's case, Brussels withheld billions of euros of funds, pointing at the Polish government taking away women's rights over their own bodies by virtually outlawing abortion, and threatening the independence of the judiciary and press freedom too by taking hold of the state broadcaster.

Hungary and Poland also repeatedly stood in the way of agreeing new EU-wide measures to tackle migration and implementing ambitious EU climate goals.
So far there are only exit polls to go on, but Brussels is doubly delighted at the expected outcome as it seems to buck a trend much-feared by the EU - the apparent renaissance of the Eurosceptic hard right across much of the bloc.
Those forces are polling strongly in France, Austria and Germany. Populists just won the election in Slovakia.

So Brussels is Delighted, the EU Superstate is back on the road, and what is the betting Hungary will swing left at their next election?

Official now,

Poland election: Tusk's opposition eyes power after pivotal vote

Opposition parties have secured enough votes in Poland's general election to oust the ruling right-wing populist Law and Justice (PiS) party, results have confirmed.

PiS won the vote with 35.38%, ahead of Donald Tusk's centrist opposition Civic Coalition with 30.7%.

But Mr Tusk is now most likely to be able to form a broad coalition.

That would end eight years of rule under PiS leader Jaroslaw Kaczynski.

The outcome in Poland will be followed all over Europe and North America in future elections. The Poles hate the Ukes by the way.

They used to say democracy is a count of heads irrespective of shat is in them, but that has changed. Voters
want goodies for themselves and their grannies. The shit is scared out of them with climate hell, they don't know what country is next door to theirs and they are terrified their granny will catch diarrhoea and no home help will arrive in an electric car. Its all about home helps and care assistants, the plight of children or Palestinians does not enter into it. And if granddad is partial to a kiddy bottom or too sure it just the way he is.
