Protest at proposed migrant centre in Athlone, Co. Westmeath

But when local Councillors pursued the matter they found that the company was only founded about three weeks ago, with just a company postal box in Dublin and no way of finding out who actually benefits from this large and lucrative government contract. Meanwhile last night, Friday 19th Oct 2024, one of the protestors seeking to block security staff from entering and leaving the site, was actually run over by the security guard's jeep.
