I disagree with Andy. The protests are working and they're a great weapon in our armoury.

I'm not sure what his alternative is. The forming of some kind of militia along the lines of the Irish Citizen Army of 100-odd years ago to protect folk from thuggish Police?

Perhaps that's the next step. There's many ways to skin a cat.

Its interesting you put up a picture of the Dublin riots. I think I interviewed about 5 people at that and they confirmed that they faced down those Gardai, and even pushed them back. It energised and emboldened the Dublin protesters and that spirit is infusing the 24 camps elsewhere, because there is some cross polination as it were.
Its true. The Guards got a hidin' that night. Their squad cars were taken off them and set alight and they were sent running down the Quays.

I remember a video of one big fat turnip head getting beat right across O'Connell bridge.

Depending on how the elections go I'd expect normal service to be resumed.

Has any protest where the Guards went in heavy actually worked?

We are at a crossroads here, we are all hoping the establishment get a bloody nose at these elections, more so in the Euro elections because many areas do not have any nationalist choices at council level.

The fact they haven't gone in heavily at most of them shows they've worked. Clonmel for example was a victory. The one in Kildare was a victory.

Without those protests there'd be Plantation centres operating there now.
Even the ones in Garda uniform have no identification numbers, that alone is illegal
Sure they were even bally'd up when removing squatters from a Dublin premises a few years ago.

When O'Gorman's house was picketed a while back McEntee said it was disgusting to see thugs in masks yet she and Drew Harris sent their own thugs in masks (and riot gear) to beat women and children off their own streets.

Myles, there is an election on.

Having Garda beating shit out of locals looks bad for optics and will lose votes.

Wait till next week onwards.

Knock says no, in a facebook post, are saying that Thornton Hall is to be developed starting next Monday. The protestors are still there, in two encampments, they are not nearly as numerous as say in Dundrum but they currently are blocking any development work. I hope they can hang in there on Monday if this report is true.

Whilst I admire the attitude of the locals and those protesting and taking direct action, it is no longer enough.

This government is determined to plant Ireland with foreign nationals, they are even happy to override local authorities and planning laws to force this plantation upon us.

Simple makeshift camps are not going to work and only offer a token of public anger at what is happening.

Can you imagine in 1916 if the IRA simply set up some protest stalls in opposition to the British Occupation?

Nobody is advocating violence, let that be clear, but what we need is something more, some unified national movement.

If there aren't at least 50% nationalist candidates elected in the European Elections then we have already lost, because if the public still can't see what is happening then they never will until it is too late.
Only Maguire and Paterson can save Ireland now

Unfortunately Thornton Hall has fallen. Last night there was a reasonably big crowd there, about 30, but by the morning they were mostly gone and so huge numbers of Gardaí, and constructions workers and equipment,

pushed the handful of protestors still there, out of the way in the usual manner. This is what it looks like tonight:

Have we had any victories? I think there was one down the midlands somewhere where the people were victorious.

Other than that I think the Regime are winning everywhere. They just use brute force with their Free State Lidl-uniformed Goons led by an RUC man and probably an MI5 agent.

Its absolutely disgusting.

Yes, Oughterard, Cootehill, Arklow and Aughrim in Wicklow, I think are victories. But yes since about March this year the government have been very systematic in destroying all the 24 hour encampments, and victories are fewer and far between I am afraid.

I'm glad there's been more victories than I realised Sir. You are doing great work yourself.

How to get people organised en masse to put a stop to this is the question. I wonder though are people so dumbed down that they just don't care.

People don't see it, they don't know about it and never will (much). Many others are positively fully engaged within the planting planning production process.

The few who do complain most likely live locally within close proximity to the Plant sites. Outside of the affected areas, nobody cares a damn but to look after their own prosperity!!

i now listen/read every line said on rte .
i now look at the omissions daily in the news --the omissions are on Glenn greenwald and on Chris hedges who won a Pulitzer and on Gideon levy of harratz newspaper and Amy Goodman and rt and tucker Carlson and redacted and judge neopolitiano and prof mearshimer and prof Jeffry Sachs and many more i listen to each week .
none i mean NONE of what all of these famous journalists have to say each week is permitted on rte --they are never interviewed by rte and when you look closer you find they are never interviewed by the bbc or sky or other msm at all .
by arrangement not by accident there is a scandalous multi million operation to lie to us and abuse us each minute of the day -- i never imagined i would live in a country which resembles north Korea more and more each day.
