The Book of Esther is possibly the most controversial book in the Old Testament and it tends to be the favourite of both Jewish Supremacists and the people who have a signficant and rather obsessive dislike of Jews as such. God is not mentioned in it and at the end after hanging Haman the villian of the book the Jews in the Iranian Empire go around slaughtering his relations. Why set it in the "Wild West" of the North American 19 th century? Also the dancing routines in the middle of it all really creepy. You have here a saacharine blood thirst worthy of Hindtva and contemporary Zionism. The message seems clear to me that they see pale skinned North Americans as "Amalek" and Deuteronomy commands "Thou shalt blot out his name from under Heaven" (25:19).
