I was asked to take a look at this case and I interviewed this lad. He is facing 30 years believe it or not for having 5 plants. I will follow it’s progress. I put it in the guest forum as outsiders may wish to comment.
Declan Well done for doing this --what showed was that you did the most essential thing in cases like this that marks you out as a serious journalist YOU SPENT TIME GETTING TO THE BOTTOM OF IT and you then did your interview .
this is a complex case and most people would run a mile from it .
40 years ago --i was engaged in a long running case with revenue who were actually very fair with me as an alcoholic had stolen 62,000 pounds at the time which i never recovered but they had alleged i had the money .
and i could not get a tax clearance cert until the courts examined it and the day they did and ordered the money returned to me which everyone knew i would never see i got my cert and the business could get paid and survive which it did .
this journey and other legal journeys re insurance cases is an education and you come across the greatest wasters and unstable fuckers as barristers --the same for hospital consultants who seem to be wove from the same highly strung cloth which makes them capable of anything .
both my aunt and my sister were legal people and the mad shit they saw close up would astonish you .
this man i think has tried to outfox the legal system and has learned the golden rule never published but learned hard ""ALL PROFESSIONS CONSPIRE AGAINST THE LAITY"" .
He will have to be careful -most people do not do well against them .
