Not just the Russian Federation but also Qatar and to a signficantly lesser extent the Islamic Republic of Iran learned from this and started to imitate it with the falling away of the BBC. The thing is that the investment will only actually produce the soft power if the journalism is high quality and mostly at least honest.</blockquote>
