It did not disclose much information about the route of the one its crew was on, only saying that the trip took nine hours, and identified Ukrainian military personnel by their first names only.Descriptions of the trains’ capabilities were seemingly contradictory. Its chief resident was quoted as saying that “we can do almost everything here,” referring to the ICU unit, but later said the medics on board can only do minor operations to stop the bleeding and can’t even call outside consultants.The report suggested that Russia could be hunting for hospital trains, because “there have recently been several strikes targeting the vicinity of railway stations and other infrastructure.” Ukraine uses railways to transport weapons and reinforcements to the front line, and Russia has targeted the deliveries on multiple occasions.
