The thing is though is that mainstream Catholicism completely rejected the idea of them at Vatican II and went further and said that there should be complete Religious liberty (a complete 180 flip on what was the Vatican's position in the 19 th century). So in the case of the 26 counties you would be talking about establishing a Theocracy with a large majority of the Clergy in strong opposition to it.</p></blockquote><p></p>
