The Gardai is obsolete when it comes to efficiency. 80 % of paper work has to be done by the member. For example Guards hate accidents. If 2 hours is spent at the scene. 200 hours is spent with paperwork. If a witness lives in Kerry, a file has tp be sent there to get a statement taken and when it comes back after 2 months it will be faulty. As Sergeant in charge of Clones I spent the whole month of July and August writing out gun licences and lodging the money. About 300 licences.amendments new applications.. The other problem is taking away staff. I had a unit of six detectives which I trainer up to be very good investigators.Next thing a crime would happen in Donegal and my staff would be called away leaving me with only 2.An odd guard would have a big mouth and I would have to keep key informatjon away from him. If he got drink up the town he would slobber it out.
Weren't they supposed to recruit civilians to do the paperwork and free the Guards up for their duties?

Anyway just to report, the Irish Mail had a big front page story yesterday saying the day of the election is to be the 27th of November and that it will be announced by the Taoiseach on the 8th of November.

I think we have entered an election cycle for about a week now and the opening shots are already in evidence. Obviously what is happening is that the powers that be are propping up Sinn Fein by a kind of media targeting of them, which allows this party to present itself as anti-establishment. Of course this is total fiction, Sinn Fein are the most globalist/establishment party in Ireland, but its clear that it will shore up its disappearing core vote if it can present itself as anti-establishment.

I hope people don't fall for this transparent tactic!

You need just one in six votes to get a quota.

and in fact would get elected with one in ten, and possibly fewer first preferences
The county Meath part surrounding Kingscourt is gone. That is a big loss. Its just Cavan and Monaghan counties now. There are a lot
of canditates in the south east of Cavan. O'Reilly Antu, Shane P O'Reilly Independent Ireland. Niamh Smith FF. Lestor Gordon and me.

Valid poll plus 1 divided by number of seats plus 1. Electorate = 70% x 62 % in winter turn out.

Population 141,500 in 2016. Female 70,309, 49.7% (52,725 are voters)) and male Male 71,226 (50.3% of 70,309 = 53,500 male voters.

27.3 % of males and 25% of females are under 18..

Total voters 52,725 + 53,500 = 106,225 voters X by turnout say 61% = 62,797 less spoiled papers say 400 = 62,397 + 1 = 62,397 divided by 5 seats plus 1 = 6 . 62397/6 = 10,299 is quota. Feel free to comment. It would be better if I had an ordinary calculator but I only hav e the computer one.

The first plus 1 stops a tie with 6 seats equal.

Here is the last time.

Knock 7% of SF due to recent rackets and leave FG down 1% due to Humphries being gone. Take 2% off FF due to migration. That is
a 9% to new candidates. A anti migration I should get 5% bringing me ahead of Niamh Smith in a good day. Robbie Gallagher of FF
is Monaghan based and might do OK. but there are no more than 2 FF seats. Pauline Tully could be in danger.

You would think being against migration and and the green agenda would bring a few votes my way, I think it will bring some.

Look at the result last time and comment.

Is there a date by which any candidate must be announced after the election is called for them to appear on the ballot.

I suspect they will want the shortest possible campaign as well. It will likely be held off til after the US election so they will not be backing the wrong horse.

I predict it will be called Thursday week

Would a Trump victory impact voters in Ireland? Certainly the British and Irish government fear a Trump win but do the people care?

Trump winning is very much a case of "been there done that" for the general public, it set both sides on fire in 2016 but now it feels like a movie that people have already seen.

Are the Irish People ~ A Passive Aggressive People ? !

I suggest that explains ~ The Irish People !
There were not passive over the centuries. but is seems that they developed into passives since it. Thus discussion forum is largely manned by
centre right wing posters, but the younger generation do not appear to car much. Better said, some of them care but not a lot.

Amazing how Ireland held on for centuries and then went semi woke.

I suggest that ~ The Irish People are passive aggressive with the occasional blow-up ~ Which is what you would expect from a passive aggressive People !

I wonder ~ Are we due for a Blow-Up ? !

There'll be no blow up. Paddy is a follower who does as his betters tell him to do. Fuckin' Canadians have more balls than the Irish. End of story.

Pauline Tully got more votes in Knockatallon in North Monaghan last time than Heather Humphries. The only thing
SF have left is taking away the border.

Will it be a faggot, a tranny or an African?
I have no idea .....I think it's total madness , to me it's a sign of pure desperation to hold the two seats they have......there's not a hope in hell this third candidate will get elected , my guess it will be somebody from clones Monaghan town area , who else can it be but one of the sitting councillors......Sean conlon , Cathy Bennett maybe
