I work with a lot of under 40s and rhey are clueless on current affairs...Trump Brexit bad, diversity good...one lad never heard of Charlie Haughey...no chance of waking these idiots up...I said McGregor will kill himself they way he's carrying on and the daft bint beside me says, oh I hope so

i have tried everything with my own teacher children who never buy a book or look at a documentary .
i tell them to look at Chris hedges the Pulitzer winning journalist and Glenn greenwald and compare what they are saying to rte /bbc guardian /sky and be shocked how much propaganda there is.
but no this is too strange a journey --they seem to be happy in their Disneyland -
i do not give up and i try and show them a little but i have to pick my time or they simply reject what i say outright .
i tell them one line of text on their phones cannot explain what 10 or more books written on the subject can and are required to do but they persist in their one line understanding of any matter .
i find i cannot have a conversation in my workspace as all my sources are completely different than theirs and when i say i have been to Russia and seen what i am talking about that is the end of the conversation as it is not possible to shake their propaganda world enough for a moments critical thinking .

This election result has summed up for me that this country is lost and old Ireland will be a fairy tale the new Irish will tell their kids at bedtime.

For me it's time to up and retire into the sunshine and leave this kip.

be careful where you retire to i went to Spain last year for a break and i was ate by EBLADAS or sea bream who have left the depths and come to the beaches all along the med coast and are piranhas .
the life guards came running when they saw my legs bleeding from 30 or more bites --had they got a vein i would not be typing this today.
in Spain water bad --you can lose your house in the morning due to a "" LEGAL MIX UP"" and a host of other problems .
I have driven through much of Europe --you could live in some parts of rural France and rural Germany but not i think elsewhere .
i have kissed the ground twice in my life in Dublin airport and i had good reason to .
