To make a long story short. In my stocking was a supergun. A big rifle. It is moral that I should get such a large gift from Santa when he gives fuck all to other little kids????

Well now you're jusht bragging. All we are allowed here are medium strength cotton balls against the usual suspects. And even those will get you a hate crime charge.
Enjoy your time on the range! God Bless 2A.

Not recently. As I said, I am not a gun enthusiast. Guns are for killing . I no longer hunt either, for fox and badger etc. I never shot a deer or anything like that. I do not like firing say an AK, I only like my old reliable 303. I dont have one so will get one this Spring. There is going to be tough times coming in now

A 303 is a basic , and old, very simple and inexpensive rifle. About 600 and a few years back they were half that.

Bit anyway, I decided not to hold on to it as it is not practical and has value just to an enthusiast

A 303 round is accurate up to a mile and can take a shoulder off a man .
its a multi pourpose gun but heavy and slow and you lose aim while using bolt action --5 rounds max is ok for hunting but for defense you do not need a mile --your problems are likely to be within 100 ft of you and yours -- i would have a repeater 7 shell shotgun with BBs and a backup rifle.

Yes. This thing is monstrous compared to a 303 though. I would certainly not be able to hit a man at a mile but yes at maybe 400 yards. At very best with a stretch, I was ranked as a marksman if my memory is correct

i was taught to fire a 303 by Larry "rush" Brennan who won the all army 303 and falling plates for years -- breathing was everything to Larry and you spent quite a while doing exercises to discover your VALLEY where your body is now briefly still enough to pull the trigger and get a result .
one sunny day i saw him with a box of matches turning the gun sight Matt black with the carbon smoke from the matches in order not to be dazzled /blinded by the gun-sight itself .
a friend JOHN C --- who lives 2 miles from crossmaglen had a Barrett fired from his garden by people unknown to him .
the gun was brought by two men and taken away by the same men and a trained British soldier was hired by the IRA and he fired the gun and killed a ruc man 2 miles away.
the Claribel system was activated and it told the military where the shot was fired from as Claribel is a microphone in each field around crossmaglen and the sounds are anylised and through triangulation can pinpoint the source of a shot fired within 3 ft accuracy .
the chopper had the coordinates fed into its guidance system before it took off and they hovered it 4 ft over the chimney of johns house and set fire to his sitting room when the fire was blownout of the fireplace onto the carpet and his deaf and dumb daughter was in the house when it turned into a fire filled tornado and all the tiles were unsettled on the roof and every picture on the walls was destroyed and furniture and the kitchen by the 2500 horsepower chopper remaining over the house for 40 minutes .
we have no idea of the depth of contempt the people of south armagh have for the Brits .
the idea that you can go to your local Walmart and buy a Barrett and bring it home to play with is for us bizarre .
the gun would sell here in Europe if you could do the paperwork .

Supposedly, it is outlawed as a sniper rifle, but I could be wrong on that. Weighing heavy, one man would not carry it too far all right.

but as I said, i am not one that is a gun expert, or anything remotely close

Imo, every house having a semi 22 and a simple bolt 303 is enough

a great survival weapon is a Ruger 22 --it is stainless steel with a black plastic stock and you can get a big mag in USA and it is semi auto approx 800 dollars here probably half that with you --it is rated the best 22 for the past 25 years .

You can hardly blame the Brits for hovering a chopper over a man's house after a Policeman was killed from his back garden.

There is more to this than meets the eye. Are they saying this lad had a serious semi auto rifle, if not military fully auto, if so, why was it not big news, and why was he walking around free.

I'm pro guns but the reality is nobody needs a 50 cal Barret lol. You shoot somebody with that, there won't be somebody. Hell, even if you miss and get close enough, something is going to get ripped off.
