Two boys from the Roma community were charged with rape of a young Irish girl at Clonavon Terrace in Ballymena Co. Antrim on Monday 9th June 2025. This has caused considerable outrage in Ballymena, where that community are not popular anyway, and that night a riot broke out which ultimately led to the burning out of those Roma families in that terrace in the town. Over that and subsequent nights (up to now, 13th June) this reaction has tapped into a general feeling of anger that migrant communities are taking over the town, and a feeling that the locals wish to fight against this. This has culminated in Ballymena with many houses self identifying themselves as locals, to prevent burnings, with one house identifying as Gurka, from the British army regiment.

At first this wave spread to Magherafelt and Larne, where the leisure centre to which immigrant refugees from Ballymena were sent, was burnt out, and is now reported to have inspired riots in places like Portadown.

At any rate here is a short video describing something of the tense atmosphere.

Oh I dunno. We've had our fair share of riots and baton charges over the last couple of years.

I doubt it- if you were to imprison Nordies for saying over the top stuff on social media you would have to start building a lot more jails and the current UK government are skinflints.

I doubt it because if they go after someone high profile in the DUP or TUV those parties will turn around and drag up something some silly Shinner said and demand that the UK State go after them in order to be "fair".

It is interesting though that in England Douglas Murray can merrily post stuff on twitter that would get your average Working or Lower Middle Class lad prison time ("Academic Agent" pointed this out).

I can't imagine that the Nordies would put up with the same tyranny one sees on the "mainland" and the politicians probably wouldn't have the balls to attempt it
