"Venezuelan President NicolĂĄs Maduro called on President Trump on Thursday to keep the peace between the Americas amid rising tensions in the Caribbean and the deployment of military forces from both countries.

“To unite for the peace of the continent,” Maduro told CNN reporter Stefano Pozzebon as the president moved through a wave of rallygoers in Caracas. “No more endless wars. No more unjust wars. No more Libya. No more Afghanistan.”

Before he fell back laughing into the crowd, Maduro’s direct message to Trump was: “Yes, peace. Yes, peace.”
 

"On Monday, the Trump administration will officially designate Venezuela’s Cartel de los Soles as a foreign terrorist organization – a decision Paul on Sunday criticized.

“I think by doing this, they are pretending as if we are at war,” said Paul, chair of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs.

“They’re pretending as if they’ve gotten some imprimatur to do what they want,” he warned. “When you have war, the rules of engagement are lessened.”
