That was before the other side also had nuclear bombs - Mutually Assured Destruction. However, whether Iran has them may not be particularly relevant for we can be sure its defences would have been constructed with a nuclear bombardment in mind, allowing them to fight on even if Israel did get desperate enough to fire them. Yet Tel Aviv appears to have backed away from this part of the conflict despite receiving a drubbing so hopefully they will have come to their senses over this option.
