Is this the first time All-Ireland final was held on Reek Sunday, the biggest Pagano-Christian pilgrimmage day? A clever way to force the pilgrimmage out of the headlines.

Any reports or photos of the climb would be appreciated.

Good wishes to the tens of thousands doing the climb today.

The piseog has been lifted.
its lovely to read that --
in my childhood that would have been said by elderly people who would carefully pick their time and take a deep breath and deliver those lines with paced profound meaning attached ,
and they would hold your eye with theirs to complete the performance .
years ago irish country people brought conversation to an art form .
each performance was carefully scripted beforehand and the gap in other conversation was carefully monitored and each person in the room gave their individual performance when the moment allowed---- and by this means you could see into the soul of each person in the room as each performance was outwardly calm and measured but inwardly there was tremendous emotion and meaning .
to the irish person who knew what to listen for---- it was like a great night on the Abbey stage all performed in your own home .
there was a prayer when you entered the house-- and one when you left --there was a prayer in the field before you started work and when you finished in the evening .
everything in the world was watched from egg shells to red haired women and the behaviour of the birds --- the whole world seemed to be foretelling the future before your eyes if you were only smart enough to see it .
it was a great time to be irish -.
