No doubt there is a cult sprung up around "climate change".

And accompanying "culture war".

But the most basic point is that blasting a trillion tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere from burning carbon deposits that were laid down deep in the earth millions of years ago is obviously going to upset the preexisting environmental balance.

Yes, it's a cult that believes one can accurately "model" the earth's climate to predict the future with these computer models.

But examine the science properly and it tells us that these type of models are not to predict the future with some stated degree of confidence.

Rather, they are useful towards estimating large-scale behaviors - to enable us to generally plan and take precaution commensurate with the possibility of cataclysmic ruinous outcomes, even if that is a relatively small possibility.

So sure, we should take warning, and take precaution. I agree with that.

But to claim the output of these models as "truth" and "science" and use that to engender dogma and ideology and support commercial interests riding on the back of that dogma, is something else entirely.

It has become yet another sect of ideology, in fact two sects (for and against).

Yet more stupidity.
