At some time in the future the pendulum is likely to swing to the opposite extreme (no doubt the "far right" will also find a more palatable label when the time comes for mass electorate consumption).

But clearly their (the far left's) time had come in this country.

In this regard FF and FG are really like channels or conduits for the prevailing political will - which at present clearly is this "progressive" politics, and which obviously has tendencies you would be hard pressed to defend as "progressive", the much more apt word being "radical", etc.

All FF and FG really care about is having their hand on the economic levers. They care about the structures of rentierism, essentially, and upholding that.

But as for the politics, they are like chameleons.

You hear them bleating every catch phrase and refrain of this "progressive" (radical) politics, do you not? And opportunistically exploiting it towards their own economic agendas.
