Russia's oil and gas revenues in October more than doubled to 1.635 trillion roubles ($17.63 billion) from 739.9 billion roubles in September, finance ministry data showed on Friday, thanks to a cyclical rise in profit-based tax.

Note how the ruble has strengthened dramatically to coincide with the Hamas attack, which was of course the death sentence to Zad Zellensky.

It's going to take some time. Avdiivka is literally the most fortified territory in Ukraine. Far more fortified than Bakhmut or Mariupol. Like Mariupol, it has industrial complexes that will be difficult to clear out, notably the coca cola plant.

I don't even disagree.

If I had to bet, I'd say it takes a long time. Going by how long it took to take Bakhmut/Mariupol, and given Avdiivka is more heavily fortified than both, I'd say it won't fall quickly. Could be months.

Or as the video pointed out, it could be rapid as the ukes freeze in the trenches.
I am wondering why the Russians are wasting so many men, instead of just waiting it out.

They must have calculated that the fall of this place would be the last straw for Zellensky and are willing to pay the price for a quick wrap up.
