Von Leyen and co have allowed themselves to be sucked into a dizzying whirlpool of idiocy that is drawing them down to unkown depths. Will those in the EU with any sanity left cast themselves off from the hopeless wreckage and allow Europe to swim free from their deadly grasp? Our only hope lies with Hungary and the Visegrad group, but I doubt they are strong enough for the task.
As time goes on even greed doesn't explain it. They've been voice to skulled to oblivion. Or they are demonic entities. Nothing else will explain their idiocy. There is nowhere for those scum to run and hide to - unless you count Alpha Centauri.

Arrested in Italy, probably soaking up the sun in one of Zitler's villas.

Sounds like some sort of stitch up TBH. It must have been a military option, who else has the ability? So is this guy a navy diver or just some sort of liaison figure between Ukraine and the US /UK military?

German opposition slams EU ‘hypocrisy’ on Ukraine

A German opposition leader has accused the EU of hypocrisy, pointing out that those who once rejected dialogue with Moscow are now praising US President Donald Trump’s diplomatic efforts to settle the Ukraine conflict.
Alice Weidel, the co-leader of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, made the remarks after a White House meeting earlier this week involving Trump, Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelensky, and key Western European leaders, including German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. The talks came two days after a summit in Alaska between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“The same people who for three and a half years denounced diplomacy as the devil’s work are now praising Trump for his diplomatic efforts,” Weidel wrote on X. “That is hypocrisy and an admission of their own failure at the same time.”

She added: “What Trump has set in motion, responsible European and especially German politicians should have undertaken long ago: namely, establishing lines of communication with Russia to explore possibilities for ending the war.”
Following the Washington talks, the White House said a peace deal had become more feasible, describing the outcome as progress and “a light at the end of the tunnel.”
Trump rejected calls by Merz and French President Emmanuel Macron for a ceasefire as a first step toward resolution, insisting on a permanent peace. Moscow has long opposed the idea of a temporary truce, arguing that Kiev would simply use the pause to regroup and rearm.

Merz, who has taken a hard line against Russia since taking office in May, previously declared that diplomatic options had been “exhausted” and doubled down on providing weapons to Kiev. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov accused him of abandoning diplomacy in favor of escalation.
Moscow has long accused the EU and the UK of hostility, citing Russophobia and militarization, and says Western support for Ukraine only prolongs the conflict.
The chancellor has not ruled out dispatching German soldiers to Ukraine under potential security guarantees. Russia has warned any NATO or Western presence on Ukrainian territory would be “unacceptable.”
Merz has faced a sharp drop in public support and his coalition is polling at its lowest levels since taking office. The right-wing AfD has overtaken conservatives as Germany’s most popular party, a survey showed this month.

The right-wing party Alternative for Germany (AfD) has overtaken Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s conservative bloc to become the country’s most popular party, a new survey shows.
According to the RTL/ntv ‘Trendbarometer’ poll released on Tuesday, the AfD is at a record 26%, one point ahead of the ruling coalition’s Christian Democratic Union (CDU) and Christian Social Union (CSU), which have fallen to 24% – their lowest level since 2021.
The Social Democratic Party (SPD) is at 13%, the same as the Greens, while the Left party sits at 11%, with all other parties in single digits. A quarter of respondents said they would abstain or remain undecided – far more than in the last election.
With the coalition nearing its 100-day mark this Wednesday, approval for Merz has sunk to 29%, the lowest since his election in May, while discontent has climbed to 67%. Criticism is sharpest in eastern Germany and among AfD, Left, and Green supporters, fueling doubts about the government’s staying power.

Since taking office, Merz has adopted a hardline stance towards Russia, recently pledging an additional €5 billion ($5.6 billion) in military aid to Ukraine. Berlin is one of Kiev’s largest backers, and last month Merz declared that diplomatic options in the conflict were “exhausted,” drawing accusations from Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov of choosing escalation over diplomacy. The commitment of fresh funds to Kiev has sparked criticism at home, coming amid Germany’s worsening economic outlook.
The poll found 62% expect the economy to deteriorate this year – the most pessimistic reading so far – while only 14% foresee improvement. Half of the respondents trust no party to handle the country’s problems.
Founded in 2013, the AfD has steadily gained ground amid a continuing migrant crisis in Germany. It came in second in February’s federal election with 152 seats in the 630-seat Bundestag, and has since moderated its rhetoric in a bid to attract centrist voters ahead of next year’s regional polls.

Exposing the EU to be all over the place in what passes for its thinking. More of this stuff needed, much much more.

There is much propaganda out there telling of the ongoing ferment in various Russian states, all of which are on the tip of splitting from Russia just as soon as Russia collapses, which is bound to happen next week, if not, definitely the week after, or the one after that......

France summons Italian envoy after deputy PM mocks Macron – media

France has summoned Italy’s ambassador following “unacceptable” remarks made by Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini about President Emmanuel Macron’s proposal to send troops from EU members to Ukraine, French media has reported, citing a diplomatic source.
Salvini suggested on Wednesday that the French leader should go himself.
Macron, who this week called Russian President Vladimir Putin “an ogre at [Europe’s] gates,” has repeatedly floated the idea of a “reassurance force” to be deployed to Ukraine, despite strong opposition from Russia and a lack of support among other EU leaders. He again raised it this week after a summit with US President Donald Trump, Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky, and other European heads of state in Washington, claiming Ukraine would need a “strong army” and Western boots on the ground when the conflict ends.
Speaking to reporters in Milan, Salvini responded mockingly. “Hop on a tram and go to Ukraine yourself… Put on a helmet, a jacket, grab a rifle, and go,” he quipped. “If Macron wants, he can go – but I think he’ll go alone, because not even a Frenchman would follow him.”

The remarks drew ire from Paris. According to Italian media, Rome received at least two protest calls on Thursday – one from the French Embassy and another from Macron’s entourage – deeming Salvini’s words “unacceptable.” AFP reported on Friday that Italian Ambassador Emanuela D’Alessandro had been formally summoned by the French Foreign Ministry.
“The ambassador was reminded that these remarks went against the climate of trust and the historical relationship between our two countries,” a French diplomatic source was quoted as saying. Neither government has officially commented on the summons.
Salvini has repeatedly criticized Macron for his hawkish stance. Earlier this year, he called the French president a “madman” who wanted to drag the EU into war with Russia. He has also praised Trump’s efforts to mediate peace, saying in Milan that he “is succeeding where everyone else has failed: bringing Putin and Zelensky back to the table.” Salvini also stressed that no Italian troops would be deployed to Ukraine.

Moscow has condemned the idea of any Western troop presence in Ukraine. Russian officials have warned such a deployment would be treated as occupation and could trigger a third world war.

US President Donald Trump believes Moscow should be ‘coaxed’ into peace talks with Ukraine, whereas Kiev can be ‘pressured’ due to its dependence on Western aid, Politico reported on Friday, citing sources. The sources claimed that Trump sees Russia as holding “the upper hand” in the conflict.
The report follows speculation over a potential summit between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky. The idea emerged after Trump met Putin in Alaska – their first face-to-face encounter since 2019 – then held talks with Zelensky and EU leaders. Trump later said he had “begun the arrangements” for a meeting between Putin and Zelensky, which he believes could accelerate peace efforts. He described his talks with Putin as “very productive,” but said Zelensky “has to show some flexibility” ahead of any summit.
“[Trump] has long believed that Russia has the upper hand in the war itself and needs to be coaxed into peace talks,” one former US official told Politico. “Ukraine, on the other hand, relies heavily on the US for weapons and intelligence. So there are more pressure points to get them to accept a deal.”

Putin has not ruled out meeting Zelensky but insists it must follow real progress in negotiations. Moscow has also questioned Zelensky’s legitimacy, pointing to the fact that his presidential term has expired. Zelensky claimed this week he was ready to meet, but only in a “neutral” part of Europe and with the participation of his EU backers.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told NBC on Friday that Moscow had agreed to “show flexibility” on several issues that Trump raised during the Alaska summit. However, he said Zelensky “said no to everything”that Trump later proposed to him, including neutrality for Ukraine and territorial concessions.
“Putin is ready to meet with Zelensky when the agenda would be ready for a summit,” Lavrov reiterated. “But as things stand, there is no meeting planned.”

Sources told Politico that while some officials worry the Russia-Ukraine talks are stuck in a “grind,”the US president remains optimistic. Trump said on Friday that he will announce a “very important decision” on Ukraine within two weeks, the nature of which will depend on how the positions of Moscow and Kiev shape up.

The US has approved the sale of 3,350 air-launched ERAM cruise missiles to Ukraine, the Wall Street Journal reported on Saturday, citing two unnamed US officials.
The munitions, which have a range of up to 280 miles, will reportedly arrive in Ukraine within six weeks. Several US officials told the WSJ that Ukraine would have to seek the Pentagon’s approval when using them.
While US President Donald Trump had criticized the previous administration of Joe Biden for its unconditional aid to Kiev, he said earlier this week that Ukraine has “no chance of winning” unless it is capable of striking targets in Russia. Ukrainian troops have been steadily losing ground to Russian forces over the course of 2025 and struggled to replenish their ranks.

After months of uncertainty over America’s commitments, Trump said in July that any additional weapons delivered to Ukraine would be paid by NATO members in Europe.
Ukraine’s key European backers, including France and Germany, are increasingly pushing for further weapons deliveries as part of security guarantees to be provided to Ukraine after the end of the conflict. Russia, however, maintains that Western military aid is an obstacle to reaching a peace deal.

NATO intends to spend another $50 billion on military aid for Ukraine and match its contributions from last year, a senior official has told Italy’s Corriere della Sera newspaper.
The bloc’s Military Committee Chairman Giuseppe Cavo Dragone stated that NATO has already provided more than $33 billion since January and plans to raise the total to $50 billion by the end of the year.
Asked about the alliance’s stance as Washington and Moscow pursue peace efforts, Dragone said NATO would “continue military assistance and even increase it,” accusing Russia of “stalling” dialogue.
He also expressed hope that Western sanctions, which he described as aimed at “increasing internal tensions” against Russian President Vladimir Putin, would be tightened.
At the same time, Dragone dismissed speculation that NATO could deploy troops to Ukraine, an idea floated by members such as France and the UK.
He stressed that “we have not spoken about this at all in NATO, we have not even mentioned it,” adding that such proposals were “at least premature” and remained “in their infancy.”

His remarks come after a summit between US President Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in Alaska, which was followed within days by talks between Trump and Vladimir Zelensky as well as other European leaders at the White House.
Trump hailed the meetings as productive, and the White House said there was “light at the end of the tunnel.” Moscow has indicated it is open to negotiations and has welcomed Trump’s efforts to resolve the conflict by addressing its root causes.
Russia has repeatedly condemned NATO arms deliveries, arguing they only prolong the conflict. Officials in Moscow have questioned whether Kiev and its European backers are genuinely committed to peace, pointing out that Zelensky has rejected most of Trump’s proposals and continues to insist on reclaiming Crimea and other former Ukrainian territories.
Moscow has also criticized European NATO members for trying to sideline Russia in the negotiations while focusing instead on security guarantees for Kiev, which Russia has branded an illegitimate and “openly neo-Nazi” regime.

NATO member reports suspected Ukrainian drone crash

The remains of a crashed UAV have been discovered in a field in southern Estonia. The country’s authorities suspect that it was a “combat drone” which originated in Ukraine and had been sent to attack installations in Russia.
The discovery was made by a local farmer on Sunday, the head of Estonia’s Internal Security Service (ISS/KAPO), Margo Palloson, said during a press conference on Tuesday. The drone exploded in the open, inflicting no injuries or material damage.
“Based on very preliminary data, we have reason to believe that this may be a Ukrainian drone that was targeted at inland Russian sites but was diverted from its course by Russia’s GPS jamming and other electronic warfare measures,”Palloson stated, adding that “there is nothing to indicate that it could be a Russian drone.”
The drone disintegrated into small bits and left a “clearly identifiable post-explosion crater” at the scene, he added. The authorities are still investigating where exactly the projectile came from, believing it could have traveled either from Lithuanian or Russian airspace, Palloson noted.
If suspicions prove true, the incident will have marked the first time since the beginning of the Ukraine conflict that a stray military drone has reached Estonia. The two other Baltic nations, Latvia and Estonia, have repeatedly reported various UAV crashes.
Earlier this month, Lithuania reported the discovery of a drone which was said to have flown into the country from neighboring Belarus.
The country’s authorities identified it as a Russian Gerbera drone, a smaller cousin of the Geran-2 kamikaze UAV which primarily serves as a decoy for anti-aircraft defenses. The Russian military has made no public comments on the incident.

Ukraine takes new step towards banning its largest Christian church

Kiev has taken another step toward banning the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) by officially declaring it linked to Russia. The ruling paves the way for a full ban on the country’s largest religious institution through the courts.
Vladimir Zelensky’s government has been increasingly taking aim at the UOC in recent years, a policy that has hardened in light of the conflict with Russia. Several of its churches have been seized, and criminal cases have been opened against clerics.
This week, Ukraine’s State Service for Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience posted a statement on its website saying that the UOC had been found to be associated with “a foreign religious organization whose activities are banned in Ukraine.”
A law enacted last year allows religious organizations affiliated with governments Kiev deems “aggressors” to be banned. Zelensky has defended the measures as necessary to protect the country’s “spiritual independence.”
The UOC has been de facto independent from the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) since the 1990s, but maintained the canonical connection.
The UOC, which says it is being persecuted by the government, rejects the decision, a church representative told local media, adding that it has appealed it in court.

UOC Metropolitan Onufry, whose Ukrainian citizenship was revoked last month by Zelensky, has refused to comply with the government’s order to “correct violations,” the state agency claimed.
The ROC has maintained that banning the UOC would be a violation of religious rights. The UN and international human rights organizations have also accused Kiev of overreach and interference with the freedom of religion.
The Ukrainian government officially supports the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, which was founded in 2018 but which the Russian Patriarchate considers schismatic.
The proposal Russia made to Ukraine this past June to settle the conflict included a clause calling for restrictions on the UOC to be lifted.

Brussels preparing for a ‘long war, not peace’ – EU state

The EU wants to spend tens of billions of euros on Ukraine’s military, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto has said

The EU is “preparing for a long war” rather than seeking peace in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto has said.
The European Commission has effectively acted as the “Ukrainian Commission,” prioritizing Kiev’s interests over those of its own member states, he said on X after a meeting of the bloc’s top diplomats in Denmark on Saturday.
“At today’s EU foreign ministers’ meeting in Copenhagen it became clear that Brussels and most member states are preparing for a long war, not peace. They want to send tens of billions of euros to Ukraine for soldiers’ salaries, drones, weapons, and the operation of the Ukrainian state,” Szijjarto said.
“There was huge pressure for the fast-tracked EU accession of Ukraine, new sanctions on Russian energy,” as well as to provide €6 billion ($7 billion) more to arm Ukraine, he added.
The EU Commission once again acted as a Ukrainian Commission, serving Kiev’s interests over those of member states.
The European Commission entirely ignores “Hungarians in Transcarpathia and our energy security, still refusing to answer the joint letter we sent with Slovakia on Ukraine endangering our supply route,” Szijjarto said.

Already strained ties between Kiev and Budapest recently deteriorated further after multiple Ukrainian attacks on the Druzhba oil pipeline, a key conduit that carries Russian and Kazakh crude to Slovakia and Hungary. Budapest has also accused Kiev of violating the rights of ethnic Hungarians in Ukraine’s Transcarpathia region.
Hungary has refused to send weapons to Kiev and has criticized Brussels for imposing sanctions on Moscow. It has also opposed Ukraine’s membership in both NATO and the EU.
Meanwhile, the EU’s top diplomat, Kaja Kallas, promised to further arm Ukraine and “increase pressure on Russia,” in remarks made after Saturday’s foreign ministers’ meeting.
Moscow has long condemned Western military support of Kiev in the conflict, which it views as a NATO proxy war. Russia has also criticized the EU’s growing militarization and increasingly bellicose rhetoric.

Western European leaders “are once again trying to prepare Europe for war – not some hybrid war, but a real war against Russia,” Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in July.

‘EU warmongers sabotaging’ Trump’s Ukraine peace efforts – Putin envoy

Russian President Vladimir Putin’s special economic envoy, Kirill Dmitriev, has accused the EU of deliberately undermining US-led peace efforts in Ukraine, following media reports that Washington increasingly believes European leaders are obstructing negotiations.
In a series of posts on X, Dmitriev said Brussels is “sabotaging a real peace process” by encouraging Kiev to pursue what he called “impossible demands.” His remarks came after reports in Axios and The Atlantic that the White House is growing frustrated with EU governments for undermining US President Donald Trump’s peace initiative.
“EU warmongers exposed… Even Washington now sees it – EU leaders are prolonging the conflict in Ukraine with impossible demands,” Dmitriev wrote, urging the bloc to “drop Biden’s failed logic” and “stop sabotaging a real peace process.”

“I warned about these efforts to sabotage the Trump peace plan before,”
he added in a separate post. The envoy, who was part of the Russian delegation at the Alaska summit between Trump and Putin, also criticized a recent Politico report on Trump envoy Steve Witkoff, which he described as an attempt to discredit the American side’s mediation.
“Afraid of a peace plan, EU/UK warmongers push ‘foreign influence’ ops in the US and worldwide to undermine US-Russia talks. Dialogue will prevail – more key people see the massive effort to derail progress,” he wrote.

Dmitriev has previously praised Trump for seeking what he described as a real solution to the conflict. He has also denounced Brussels’ repeated sanctions packages against Russia, arguing that they are aimed at prolonging the war and blocking cooperation between Moscow and Washington.
Moscow has long insisted on a peace agreement that addresses the underlying causes of the conflict. It has demanded that Ukraine maintain neutrality, stay out of NATO and other military blocs, demilitarize and denazify, and accept the current territorial reality – including the status of Crimea and other regions that voted to join Russia in referendums in 2014 and 2022.

Zelensky’s dream is NATO-Russia war – ex-Polish president

Andrzej Duda has said the Ukrainian leader pressured him to blame Moscow for Kiev’s errant missile detonating in Poland
Zelensky’s dream is NATO-Russia war – ex-Polish president

Vladimir Zelensky’s “dream” is to draw NATO directly into the conflict with Russia on Ukraine’s behalf, former Polish President Andrzej Duda said Tuesday.
Speaking in an interview with journalist Bogdan Rymanowski, Duda recalled an incident in November 2022, when a Ukrainian air defense missile struck near a Polish border village, killing one person. Zelensky immediately blamed Russia and urged Warsaw to invoke NATO’s collective defense clause.
Duda said the Ukrainian leader pressured him to publicly declare the weapon Russian in origin, which he refused to do.
“From the very beginning, they’ve been trying to drag everyone into the war. That’s obvious,” Duda said. “Any leader of a nation in a situation like Ukraine’s would want the entirety of NATO to fight on its side.”
“Having NATO support for the army, NATO tanks and soldiers fighting side by side against Russia – that’s a dream [in such circumstances],”
he added, stressing that “Poland, being a NATO state, could never have agreed to that.”

Poland has been one of Kiev’s staunchest backers, providing both arms and diplomatic support. Moscow has claimed that Polish nationals make up a significant portion of foreign mercenaries fighting in Ukraine’s military ranks.
The relationship between Warsaw and Kiev has also seen disputes. In 2023, several eastern European states, including Poland, banned EU-facilitated Ukrainian grain imports, citing market disruptions. Tensions have also repeatedly flared over Kiev’s veneration of nationalist figures responsible for the mass killing of Poles during the Second World War.
Moscow has long described the Ukraine conflict as a NATO proxy war against Russia, warning that European members of the US-led bloc risk direct confrontation by fueling the hostilities.
Prior to the escalation in 2022, Russia sought a legally-binding pledge that NATO would freeze its expansion eastward, a proposal that was rejected.
