Belgium did fuck all till the last five minutes of the 90, they didn't deserve to equalise based on that performance, but Senegal choked. I hoped we'd get a penalty shootout for the drama, but that penalty decision for Belgium at the end of extra time was dodgy, not clear and obvious enough so it shouldn't have been given. The ref spent ages looking at the VAR replay to make his decision so it wasn't clear and obvious.

Yeah they were shocking. Looked like they were going out with a whimper. It must be one of the biggest choke jobs in world cup history. Lukaku was quite good when he came on. He's one of those sh1te players who is somehow effective.

The lads in studio thought the pen was harsh as well but it seemed fairly clear to me, no? The defender kicked the back of his leg and caused him to fall to the ground. I did enjoy the Senegalese player engaging in the most blatant time wasting tactic of all time, by collapsing after an innocuous push and landing exactly on the penalty spot 🤣🤣.

There was some contact but I dunno...could've gone either way. The ref didn't award the penalty initially though, so if it's not clear and obvious to him at the VAR review stage he is supposed to stick with his original decision.

LOL, I forgot about that, that was gas. Crazy stuff like that goes on all the time in the Africa Cup of Nations.
 
I haven't always been convinced ( as a lot of others ) of Harry Kane but I thought that his second goal last night was a damn fine goal ~ Nice movement side-ways and a cracking shot as well.

The first goal wasn't that bad either ~ Nice movement and header, though the goalkeeper should have saved it.

I suppose if you want to be picky you could say the DR Congo defenders should have done better, but if you that picky then you could pretty much say that about any goal !

World Cup to Galway maybe ;) :ROFLMAO:
 
I suppose playing for Bayern Munich where they are so often the better team than the opposition ( in the German league ) may be useful for Harry Kane at the world cup ~ ~ Knocking in goals against inferior opposition is handy thing to get plenty of practice at ! ! !

I felt the same about Kane, particularly in World Cups, but he has really played well in this World Cup. He's saved their skin a few times.

I was thinking about this yesterday. A lot of the top teams at this World Cup are heavily reliant on one one player: England and Kane; Argentina and Messi; Spain and Yamal ; Norway (probably not a top team) and Haaland. Even France, though they have a very good team, are reliant on Mbappe to score a lot of goals.

I think national teams in previous world cups were definitely stronger as a collective. I was watching old clips from the world cup in 2002 and there were so many great players on every top team.

Off the top of my head:

Italy had Totti, Maldini, Del Piero, Inzaghi, Buffon.

France had Zidane, Henry, Trezeguet, Viera, Pirez, Thuram, Barthez.

England had Scholes, Beckham, Owen, Ferdinand.

Argentina had Veron, Ortega, Simeone, Batistuta, Crespo.

Portugal had Figo, Rui Costa, Pinto, Pauletta.

Spain had Mendietta, Valeron, Tristan, Morientes, Raul.

Netherlands didn't even qualify and they had Van Nistelrooy, Overmars, Bergkamp, Kluivert, Seedorf.

They brought in guidance for commentators on the BBC a few years back to avoid calling black players strong, athletic etc.

Even if its the truth it can't be said because it might be racist.

Yes, a lot.of kick and chase between the fastest runners . Soon Modric will join Pirlo and others as a faded memory of a different game
 
I see that Norway have knocked out Brazil ~ 2-1 to Norway.

Just an interesting observation ~ Why have Brazil stopped producing Top Quality Midfielders for say 20 years or even more ? !

Tis a bit of a mystery ? !

Back in the day you could be pretty much guaranteed that Brazil would have some top quality Midfielders !

I don't know, but back in the day ~ ~ Some top Brazilian midfielders would always be in the running to be the best midfielders in the World ~ ~ Certainly to be in the running to be the top creative midfielders in the World and it just doesn't seem like that for a long time now ! ! !

Mexico never seem to be able to make that next step in Soccer = = It is my firm belief that the reason for this is that your average Mexican Man is more inclined towards being a Midget than towards being a Decent Size.

To me the World Cup just doesn't seem to generate the general social excitement that it once did. Could be 101 reasons for this but I wonder if part of it may be due to the contest being reduced to a black on black event with the names of various countries attached to each African team.
 
I just watched some highlights of the England - Mexico game.

The Penalty for Mexico was a soft penalty ~ But sometimes soft penalties are given especially if the ref has previously given the other team a penalty ~ Jimenez was excellent for Mexico despite being is it 35 years old ~ He also had a very serious head injury a few years back.

Back to the rest of the Mexicans ~ ~ I think, even if you get a Decent Sized
Mexican his Inner Midget Mexican is dragging him back ! ! !

On the other-hand, The Mexicans are probably afraid to get too big, because if they did ~ ~ They wouldn't be as good at sneaking in to America ~ Through holes in Trump's Wall, etc etc ! ! !

What was the darkie percentage on the Norway/Brazil teams? I think the Vikings have two (on the squad) and the Samba boys have 5 or 7. How many played on the day?

I suspect Brazil lost because they had too many darkies on the team. The same when the Germans whipped them 7-1.

Too many darkies spoil the team.

Didn't watch the England game as on to late, so the result doesn't count 🤣 anyway, yes Mexicans are too short, always at risk of taking a beating from a more physical side. Will be a close one on Saturday v Norway. Norway tho are really just a 2 man team, with the ogre up front and the arsenal lad in midfield, the rest are pretty much Ireland quality...

Argentina will beat the English team. Look at the line ups, the Argentina team is made up of Argentinans... England on the other hand, Africans and a couple of oirish lads, barely a true Sassenach to be seen. Daily Mail showed the argies singing songs about revenge for las malvinas (Falkland islands), the African English chaps think the Falklands are beside the isle of Wight, mate.

Shameless rigging of the Norway England game to allow the darkie Englanders win. The Vikings took it in good spirit, but they made sure to make lots of sarcastic remarks about the dodgy refereeing.

If a darkie team wins (France/England) MSM will be even more full of darkie athlete worship than usual.

Hopefully ~ Historically FIFA were always wary of England getting to the Semi-Final or Final, because of the worry of what the England fans might do i.e. England Football Hooligans could kill the Golden Goose of Valuable Sponsors by dragging soccer to the depths of the gutter ! ! !

This is a lot less likely when the World Cup is played where it is too expensive to get to, or say Russia, where even the England fans ain't going to do much trouble there ~ ~ America / Canada / Mexico, has been way too expensive for most of the English Yobbos and in fairness there fans ain't as bad as they used to be ~ Maybe because it is too expensive now, and especially, if / when, the World Cup is not too geographically near to England.

I am not sure, if FIFA would be as wary of England being in a Final as they once would have been, but it would Not surprise me either; If they think. Why take the Chance ? !

I saw somewhere ; Where a soccer fan, was in a touristy Country and the shirts the " neutral " fans were wearing, were; Argentina / Spain / France and very little England ; This could be a marker for the Countries that make the most money for FIFA worldwide ! ! !
